It wasn't distasteful, but the mark at my collar bone burned. When I looked at it, the once ashen mark had reddened.

"oww." I breathed out in pain, and couldn't help but doubt the fact that I might have gotten the antidote right. I rose from the table and raced to the bathroom to look at myself through the mirror.

The veins on my neck pulsed, and the scar burned red, as though my skin had been scalded.
