Race Competition
The chopper landed in a helipad in the East River. The water made ripples as the wind from the helicopter blew. I saw a lot of men in black surround the port. We passed them as Dom led me to his black SUV.
"How did you find me?" I asked in a low voice, when we were finally alone in the car.
"Mat was there, looking for Lucy Florence. He found you lurking around the fields of Georgebury instead." He drove past the wild streets full of lights and people. I didn't think I would miss New York for a bit, but there's something about its liveliness that I'd always look for.
Epilogue- Dom's Point of View -Travis Salvatore wins Championship Cup at Formula-E RomeIt was the headline of an Italian news magazine. I didn't read whatever was there but I focused on the precious photograph of my Sapphire and I after the race. She looked so small in my arms. It's a beautiful moment caught on camera. Something I'd frame on our wall.I glanced back in our bed where she's sleeping. My beautiful angel was fast asleep on our bed, tired. After all, we had along night. The way she moaned my name echoed through my mind as the golden sun rose here in St. Regis. Finally, I'm back in Italy after years..."Dom?" I heard an angel call. Sapphire rose up from the sheets, looking around."Yes, baby?"Her ocean eyes glanced at me. She looked like a lost kitten, looking for h
[Dom's POV | Mature Content]The sweeping sound of water rushing through was our music. Golden sunlight glimmered on us as I sat against a tree, softly caressing Sapph’s auburn curls. She laid against my chest, watching the river run through the rocks. Deep in the woods, you can find a river path. The water pressure is not too high, safe enough to take a dip and swim.We had a picnic mat where we’re sitting. Some baskets stood on the greens for our food. This served as our small weekend getaway after a successful investment in a publishing company. Alpha Corp. is expanding even more, but all I can think about is how I’m happily married to this angel.“I think I wanna take a dip now, Dom.”Sapphire tugged on my arm, brushing on it. I looked at her tenderly, not taking my eyes off her beautiful face.“Alright.” I smirked and stole a kiss on her pink lips. She blushed hit my chest softly. My s
PrologueIt is often said that, there is the calm before the storm. The ice-cold air before the raging fire. The echoing laugh before the sob-filled mourning. The unbearable pain before the satisfying pleasure. The high flight before the big fall. The unstoppable fight before the wavering surrender. And life...it is the best matchmaker of it all. Life merges opposites to be one successful pair. Just like two magnets...no matter how hard you try to put one away from the other, they keep finding their way to go back to each other. No matter how far the distance is stretched.
DinnerThe sun was about to set, an ombre of orange and pink inks the sky ofGeorgebury, Connecticut. Only less than a thousand of inhabitants live in the small town.A part of that statistics is theVazquezFamily. Good old Robert Vazquez is prepping to get some fresh corn and wheat.Harvest season is about to start, and the folks are getting ready. A busy month of selling in the local market in the neighboring town has always been a challenge for him...knowing that he'll have to leave his small store every now and then. Good thing that Sapphir
Smile"What is it?"Dom's deep baritone voice rang through Sapphire's ears, sending shivers up to her spine. She can't help but look at the woman behind him. The blonde woman was running her hand up and down Dom's arm, making the innocent Vazquez uncomfortable.Sapphire looked up to meet the hypnotizing eyes of Dom. It took her a few seconds before she came back to her senses."Papa's inviting you for dinner." She said in a soft voice and looked away. She tried to shift her gaz
Late- Sapphire's Point of View -"Ah, Dom! So good to see you again!" Papa gave out a joyous laugh.I went to the kitchen and set up the table for us. While Papa was busy putting the food on the table, Dom sat on the old maroon couch. Our living room is just connected to the kitchen and dining area, making his presence known to everyone inside."Thanks for inviting me tonight, sir." I glanced at Dom, only to see him looking at me. I immediately looked away from his in
KidOnce again, we were walking towards the trail that leads to home. It was a quiet walk, and Dom didn't say anything else after we closed the store. I bid goodbye to Caleb earlier and that was it. Silence reigned the path, my heart thumped twice as hard, and coldness smothered the air yet again. And the icy ambiance didn't come from the soft wind blowing through the fields.I pushed some of the stray strands from my auburn hair behind my ear and continued the small journey. I can already see our small and old house. It's painted white on the outside, with a dusky grey roof. It's small
Earlier"Sapphire!"I was feeding some of our chickens in the backyard. There were a total of six chickens, but my favorite is the white feathered hen. I named her Callie. I softly stroked Callie's round and dull feathers when a familiar voice called my name. I stood up from my crouching position and faced Caleb– who is now approaching me."Caleb? What are you doing here? Don't you have school?" Question after question, my eyebrows furrowed at his unexpected arrival. It was Monday, and I'm sure he has school on weekdays.
