Chapter 48: On the Balcony

Ryker's POV

Claire and I hung out on the room's patio after we ate. When we went outside, a cold wind met us. The wine we have gives off a noticeable warmth, which is good. Claire sat atop the bars and looked over the land around her. In the distance, a huge sign for our respected company comes into view, and there, standing tall and strong is none other than Heiji.

"Haist, I keep seeing that man's face everywhere I look," I whispered.

"What?" Claire looked at my face as she came toward me.

I didn't answer her question because I was pulled to her lips, which made me start the kiss. The kiss was hungry and strong. I turned her to look at me. Without touching our mouths, I skilfully took her wine glass from her and put it on the nearby railing. I pulled her closer to the fence, and her body pushed harder against mine.

"Ryker," she said with a gasp, "I might fall." Claire grabbed my arm and held on tight. As I read what she said, I couldn't help but chuckle. T
