When I stopped the car in front of the house, I felt a burning need to escape it. I ran faster as I made my way to the front door. My attention was focused entirely on Claire. I didn’t even look at Manang Greta once. Instantly, the door opened, and I quickly looked around the room for Claire.

I quickly went up the stairs because I was eager to get to our room as soon as possible and didn’t wait for Danica to answer. As the door opened, I yelled throughout the room for Claire.
