Chapter 19 Sorting my messed up life

I seared both steaks in the pan. I wasn't as good a cook as my mother but I was alright. After seasoning and basting in rosemary butter, the steaks were cooked for the remaining time in the oven. Brian watched me while he sipped on a cold beer. He had asked if I wanted one and I told him I was carrying a child.
