Evelyn’s POV

"Hope you're enjoying your little reunion?"

The voice sliced through the silence like a jagged blade.

I turned sharply, my heart slamming against my ribs.

There he was.

The man.

The one with the cruel smile and the cold eyes. He stood just a few feet away, leaning against the doorway like he had all the time in the world, his arms folded lazily across his chest. His eyes gleamed with something dark, satisfaction? Madness?

Maybe both.

He took a slow step forward, the floor creaking beneath his boots.

I instinctively wrapped my arms tighter around my mother, shielding her as if my trembling body could somehow protect her from him.

He tilted his head, smirking.

"Look at you," he said, voice smooth and laced with venom. "Still trying to play the hero, huh? Still clinging to hope like a child clutches a broken toy."

I didn’t move.

Didn’t blink.

I stared at him, silently pleading with my eyes.

Please.

Please don’t do this.

But he wasn’t looking for mercy.

His gaze shifted to my

  • My Wife, My Blackmailer    The morning after the fire

Evelyn’s POVMy body trembled in his arms.Smoke still hung in the air like a heavy ghost, clinging to our clothes, our skin, our lungs. But it was over. The nightmare. The fire. The man.Gone.I pressed my cheek against Louis’s chest, the rhythmic thump of his heartbeat anchoring me. My breath came in short, broken gasps, my chest tight from the smoke and the weight of everything.Louis cupped the back of my head with his palm, his fingers buried in my tangled hair.“Just breathe, baby. I’ve got you,” he murmured, his voice raw. “You’re safe. You’re okay.”His eyes were bloodshot, swollen from the smoke. His jaw clenched and unclenched like he was holding back a scream or a sob—maybe both. Soot streaked across his forehead, and a cut ran along his temple, still bleeding.I reached up with shaking fingers and touched it gently. He flinched, but didn’t move away.Instead, he grabbed my hand and pressed it to his lips.“I thought I lost you,” he whispered, his voice cracking. “I thought

  • My Wife, My Blackmailer    Finally together

Evelyn’s POVI stormed into the house, my heart thundering in my chest like a war drum.Tears blurred my vision, but I refused to let them fall.I couldn’t believe what had just happened. He got me pregnant. And yet, all I wanted, had wanted, was a divorce. A clean break. Freedom.I threw my bag on the floor and yanked open the closet, pulling clothes out with shaking hands. I wasn’t going to stay in this house a minute longer. I wasn’t going to wait around for Louis to come home and try to explain himself again.No.I was done waiting for him to finally see me.All these years, I had stood beside him, trying. Trying to be his wife. Trying to be his partner. Trying to survive the emotional starvation. But he never saw me.Never saw the woman who loved him. The woman who worked silently, endured everything, watched as he brought two women into our home… and shamelessly slept with them. In front of me.Like I didn’t matter. Like I didn’t even exist.I zipped the bag shut with a loud, an

  • My Wife, My Blackmailer    Evelyn's gone

Louis’ POVI didn’t know where I was going. I had no destination, no plan, just panic clawing at my throat like a wild animal. But one thing was certain. If I didn’t act fast, everyone I loved would get hurt.He blamed me. That boy, the one with the birthmark on his neck. He believed I stole his life. His family. Everything he was supposed to have. And I could see it now, clearer than ever. He wasn’t just out for revenge. He wanted blood. Mine. Evelyn’s.He wanted to burn my world to the ground. And I wasn’t going to let him.I rushed out the front door like a man possessed. My chest was tight, breath uneven, hands fumbling for my phone again and again. My head throbbed with a thousand thoughts, none of them complete, just flashes of fear and guilt and rage.Dave was already waiting outside, standing by the car, eyes wide with concern.“Boss!” he called out as I stormed toward him. “What’s going on? What happened in there?”I yanked the car door open, slid into the passenger seat. My

  • My Wife, My Blackmailer    The reason he hates me

Louis' POV“Ayou for real? Are you really for real?”My voice cracked. I wasn’t shouting anymore. It was this low, broken tone I didn’t recognize. My hands trembled at my sides, fingers curling into loose fists, not out of anger, but confusion.“You guys are saying that this…” I held the picture in my hand, the one I’d clutched so tightly I could feel the edges cutting into my palm. “The picture I saw when I was younger. Mum, you’re saying that was actually my brother?”My eyes darted to my father, well, the man I’d known as my father. He nodded silently, eyes avoiding mine. His lips pressed into a tight, miserable line.“Yes,” he finally said. “He’s your twin brother. Your real twin brother.”I stared at him. At both of them. My throat was dry. My legs felt like they could collapse underneath me.But something didn’t feel right. Something in my gut twisted painfully, telling me this was wrong. That this was off. That they were lying to me.They were manipulating me.Trying to feed me

  • My Wife, My Blackmailer    The Mark of Truth

Louis’ POVThe image haunted me, the mark on that boy’s neck. It wasn’t just a tattoo. No, it was something deeper, something connected to a past I never fully understood. And now, I needed answers. Not guesses. Not assumptions. The truth.I grabbed my phone and called the only person I trusted in situations like this.“Hello, Dave?” My voice was sharp, urgent.“Boss?” Dave responded instantly, like always.“I need you to meet me outside HB Hospital. Right now.”There was no hesitation in his voice. “On my way.”Twenty minutes later, the black SUV pulled up in front of the hospital. Dave rolled down the window, eyes scanning me.“Where are we headed?” he asked.“My father’s house.”Dave’s hands froze on the wheel for a moment. “You’re going there?”“Yes.”He turned fully toward me, his brows drawing together. “Why? You haven’t been there in years. You know how you get when you go back.”“I need to check something,” I cut him off. “Something I should have looked into a long time ago.”
