Chapter 2

I grabbed Ted's arm and dragged him into the closet. "Come, Ted, do you like this shirt?"

"I do!" He nodded and felt the shirt material. Then, he turned to Wren and smiled.

"Wren, can I really take it?"

Wren, who initially looked angry, immediately put on a smile after hearing his question.

She patted his head lovingly.

"Of course."

Hence, I gave away our matching clothes, the watch with our names engraved on it, and even my wedding tux.

Anything that he could see and touch, no matter how many memories these things carried, I gave them all to Ted without flinching.

After that, the closet was almost empty.

Just when I was about to take out another watch, Wren grabbed my wrists and said through gritted teeth, "Joe, I didn't know you were such a generous man!

"Since you want to be generous, why are you asking him to take these away? You might as well move out and let him move in instead."

She glared at me intently. A hint of anger flashed in her eyes, and I thought I was hallucinating.

"Why are you hesitating now?

"Hah, I knew you weren't that generous. Forget about it…"

I quickly pulled my hand back with a cold expression. I walked back to the bedroom. "I'm not hesitating. That's a great suggestion."

Wren followed behind me closely and threatened, "I'm only giving you one minute to pack your stuff. If you can't pack them all, don't blame me…"

Before she could finish speaking, I picked up a backpack and quickly left under her shocked gaze.

Wren came back to her senses and chased after me to block my way there. She suppressed her anger and asked, "Is that all you're going to bring?"

I grabbed my bag strap and nodded indifferently. "Yes."

"Very well." Wren glanced at the items that had nothing to do with her. She turned to look out of the window.

"If that's the case, you can't take that car! I gave that to you!"

She had forgotten that she was the one who begged me to use that car back then.

She said that once I had that car, I would no longer be abandoned halfway, just like what Luna did to me.

Wren promised to support me forever.

However, I felt cold on the inside as I grabbed the key.

I simply tossed it to Ted.

"I'll give you the car too then."

He took the key and traced his fingers over it. Then, he leaned against the railing with a huge smile on his face.

"Since we were children, Joe has always let me have what I want.

"I didn't expect you to do that now that we're older. Joe, you're the best! Thank you!"

He dashed forward, wanting to clap me on the shoulder. However, I dodged his attempt.

"Why are you thanking me? You should be thanking Ms. Anderson. If she didn't remind me about it, I would've forgotten."

Wren was breathing heavily. Her grip tightened around the cup. She said with a cold expression, "These second-hand items are nothing. Ted, if you like anything in the future, just tell me. I'll buy new ones for you."

Upon hearing that, Ted hugged Wren from behind and buried his head against her neck. He said lovingly, "Thank you, Wren!"

After getting distracted by Ted, Wren stopped paying attention to me.

I ignored them and walked out of the mansion discreetly.

My cab was waiting at the front gate.
