Chapter 2

ผู้เขียน: Queenie
Lily looked extremely impatient.

“Hunter, I’m only asking you to sign because you’re my husband! Otherwise, I have my ways of getting this procedure approved!”

I clenched my fist and glared intently at Lily.

“Why are you forcing me to sign this agreement? Is Jared desperate to sell those organs for money?”

After Lily took the available heart away, I asked my friend to look into Jared’s mother’s medical records.

It was confirmed that his mother did not need a heart transplant.

Claiming that his mother needed a heart was a complete lie!

However, Lily believed everything Jared said. If not, Maryam would not have ended up dead!

Then, where was the heart that Lily took?

I really suspected that Jared had taken the heart to the black market.

Lily slapped me.

“Hunter, stop accusing him! Why would Jared do such a thing? There was only one available heart. We’re saving a life, regardless of whose life it was! How can you accuse him of this? You’re vicious! Apologize to him!”

Jared suddenly exclaimed, “Ah, sorry, I slipped.”

He poured a huge cup of boiling water onto the deceased’s head.

When I looked over, Jared laughed viciously.

“I might get another case of butterfingers if Hunter’s unwilling to sign the organ donation agreement. Dr. Smith, it’s better to get the family member to sign the agreement. We can’t have anything tainting your career.”

I was burning with rage. Jared did that on purpose!

He claimed that he would not want Lily’s career to be tainted. However, she had already broken many rules for him.

As I had reminded Lily of that several times, Jared likely hated me.

Lily actually looked touched.

“Jared, you care too much about me. You’re the opposite of Hunter. He only knows how to throw tantrums!”

She poured a cup of boiling water and held it above the corpse. Then, she asked viciously, “So are you going to sign the agreement?

“Don’t you realize that if you drag this out, your mother wouldn’t be able to rest in peace?”

It was her mother who would not rest in peace!

I was so angry that I immediately called the hospital’s hotline. I wanted to report Lily and Jared for intending to harvest the organs illegally.

Lily realized what I wanted to do, so she splashed the hot water at me.

Jared also snatched my phone and threw it on the floor.

Lily shrieked, “Initially, I still wanted to show some respect toward your mother! Now, forget about it!”

She called over the security guards and claimed that I was being violent toward hospital workers, so they escorted me out of the hospital.

Then, she brought the corpse away with Jared.

I spent some time freeing myself from the security guards’ custody. Then, I ran over to the operating room where they were removing the organs.

In just a short time, they had already cut Maryam’s body open.

She also had a wound on her head because of the hot water Jared had poured over her.

They had cut Maryam’s limbs and tossed them away.

They were treating Maryam’s dead body like it was a farm animal.

Jared was kissing Lily as he pressed her against a wall.

“Dr. Smith, isn’t it bad for us to do this before a dead body?”

Lily moaned and answered, “If she didn’t die this quickly, I would do this in front of her! She humiliated me. It’s only fair for me to cheat on her son before her.”

I was enraged. I rushed forward and separated them.

“Lily, how dare you?”

I did not expect to find out that she hated my mother that much.

Lily did not look guilty at all, even though I had caught her cheating on me. She only looked unhappy that I interrupted her.

She pushed Jared away and straightened her clothes.

“Seeing you makes me annoyed. So, I can only satisfy my desires in the company of someone else.”

Jared kissed Lily’s cheek tauntingly.

“Hunter, you didn’t cherish such a good wife. I’m not in the wrong for comforting her.”

Then, he pointed at the dismembered body.

“By the way, Hunter, in order to make the organ removal process easier, I have dismembered the body. I’m sure you understand, don’t you?”

I gazed at their smug faces, then landed a punch on Jared.

Then, I looked at Lily and said without any hesitation, “Let’s get a divorce!”

“Hunter, I only did that because I was ill. I really, really love you. Have you forgotten that? I used to love you so much that I was willing to sacrifice my own life for you!”I sighed and said, “Lily, why do you think I kept forgiving you when you cheated on me with Jared? It’s because you once loved me so much. But it’s really over between us.” Lily’s mental health was poor. It seemed like she could not understand me. She grabbed my sleeve and sniffed me. Then, she questioned me desperately. She said, “You’re not giving me a chance at all! Is it because you have someone new? I smelled it! You reek of perfume! It’s Amber! Only she’d use this perfume! I was right. You’re having an affair with her!” The police officer quickly came over to stop her. I pulled my arm back and took the divorce agreement. Even though she could no longer listen rationally, I still said, “I’m not like you. I’m loyal to my marriage.” Lily was in her own world. She pressed her hands against her face

She was still unwilling to sign the divorce papers, and she requested to see me again. I rejected her request. I treated my friend who worked at the hospital to a meal. It was because of her help that I was able to discover Jared’s crime of organ trafficking and report it to the police. My friend was named Amber White. I knew her from high school. When I found out that she worked in the same hospital as Lily, I was a little surprised. I chatted with her briefly when I brought Lily her lunch box. However, because of that brief chat, Lily thought that Amber was seducing me. Lily would not listen to me, no matter how I explained it. Lily would purposely make Amber’s life difficult at work. The more I wanted to stop Lily, the meaner Lily was to Amber. Hence, I no longer brought Amber up. I also did not manage to get a chance to apologize to her. When I asked Amber for help, I did not expect her to agree. I brought all this up when we were having dinner. Amber

Instead, he did that so Lily would not recognize that it was Maryam prematurely and spoil his plans. He disfigured Maryam on purpose. Jared was absolutely inhumane. If I were able to figure out his intentions, Lily would be able to do that too. She was trembling with anger. “He’s been lying to me from the start! How dare he? I treated him so well!”I looked at Lily mockingly. “My mother also treated you so well, but you still wanted her dead!” Lily was not willing to admit her mistakes. “It’s not the same!”It was basically the same to me. They had an affair because they were equally vicious. After I cooperated and helped with the investigation, I had already asked my lawyer to send me a divorce agreement. Then, I printed it out at the police station. I slid the divorce papers that I had signed to Lily. “It doesn’t matter what you say anymore. Sign the papers. It’s over between us.” Lily sobbed silently. “Hunter, do you not love me anymore? You can’t do this to me!”

It was impossible to imagine that Lily used to love Jared to death. She was staring at him with an all-consuming hatred. She used to love him so much that she would praise him for being kind and understanding. Jared took a step back and looked at Lily innocently. “Dr. Smith, your mother’s death has nothing to do with me. I never once asked you to transfer the available heart to my mother. I didn’t ask you to dismember the corpse either. I even tried to stop you. Have you forgotten about that?”He was right. Jared had never blatantly asked for anything. He would give hints and manipulate Lily to reach his goals. At that very moment, Lily appeared to be a huge joke. It meant that Maryam’s death and the dismembering of her corpse were all because of Lily. Lily broke down. Jared was still trying to talk his way out of his suspected crimes of illegally selling organs. He said to the police officers, “This has really nothing to do with me. I’m just an intern. I just do whate

Lily flipped through the death certificate and the transfer records over and over again. Her voice was a little hoarse. “How could it be my mother? My mother’s healthy. Why would she have a heart attack?” She took out her phone in denial and video-called Maryam. She felt that if she could see with her own eyes that her mother was well, this lie would be exposed.Maryam’s phone was with me. Before she called Maryam, I took out Maryam’s phone. Lily’s expression froze. She snatched my phone and switched it on. At that moment, she could not control her own emotions. She roared at me, “Hunter, you’re vicious! How dare you find so many people to put on an act, just so you could fool me? This isn’t my mother! She said she went travelling overseas! She’ll be away for a long time! She hasn’t returned to the country yet!” Her voice got louder, as if she was trying to convince herself that Maryam was not dead. I sneered, “Lily, you can’t simply say that. They’re the police. I could

Lily held Jared sympathetically and roared, “You want to divorce me over such a small matter? You’re being unreasonable!”Jared glared at me viciously as he pretended to be understanding. “Dr. Smith, Hunter’s angry because I dismembered the body. That’s probably why he wanted to divorce you. I’m willing to beg for Hunter’s forgiveness if he’s willing to treat you well and rein in his anger.”At the same time, I heard dogs barking from the back alley behind the hospital. Lily’s eyes brightened as she stared at me hatefully. “What did you do wrong? Nothing! I’m going to divorce him. He shouldn’t even think about humiliating you this way! I’m also going to feed the leftover portions of that corpse to the dogs! I’m going to make full use of that dead body!” After she said that, she quickly bagged the limbs and brought them out. Jared purposely stopped me from chasing after Lily. When I finally pushed Jared aside and reached the back alley, the stray dogs had already started t
