Chapter 06 : Confess feelings

.. Then Frederic went on his way while Vania knocked on the door. Zed came quickly to open it.

"Oh you are there!" he said

"Yes, can I come in? Or are you with a girl?" asked Vania

"Hmm no you can come in."

"Wow, I hadn't noticed how small our room was, yours is even bigger." Vanya exclaimed.

"Really, please sit down." said Zed

Vania sat down on the sofa and put two books and a pen on the small coffee table.

"So Zed where do we start" she questioned?

They exchanged a noncommittal smile and then Zed sat down next to her.

"You have some good books, I've been looking for these authors for a long time, I like their theories on media communication so much," says Zed.

Vania smiled wanly. They spent some time studying and making short presentations. After a while Vania sighed:

"I think we've studied enough, I already have everything I need for tomorrow."

"Are you sure ?" asked Zed

"Certainly." answered Vania

"I can already imagine you wowing the audience who are watching you attentively." said Zed smiling

"I don't know if I'll make it Zed" says Vania

"I know you'll rock." reassured Zed

"It's easier to say it. What do we do now?" asked Vania

"What time is it ?" Zed replied.

Vania glanced at her cell phone.

"Soon 8:00 p.m." she announced

Zed felt his blood circulation stop. He was starting to sweat😓

"Oh are you hot?" Exclaimed Vania,

"yet there is air conditioning"

"No it's okay" Zed said.

He wanted to tell her that it was over and that she had to leave already, but the silhouette of Frédéric imposed itself on his mind. He saw him again in the spirit of saying to him: <

"Vania, can I speak to you frankly?" he asked in a gravelly voice.

" All right." approved Vania

"There, I had to tell you this for a while but I didn't really know how you would take it." said Zed

"Well what Zed?" asked Vania

"I like you a lot. I can't detach from my mind. And today when you smiled at me while I was facing my opponent I felt like enlightened." confessed Zed

Vania looked him straight in the eye without interrupting, her hand on her chin. She should surely take pleasure in his speech.

"Your presence played a big role," Zed continued.

"We are fighting for a trophy but for me the best trophy would be the gift of your heart I think I love you more than I can express to you." he concludes

"Wow! I'm flabbergasted Zed" said Vania. "I saw it in your eyes that you were mentally devouring me."

Zed frowned.

"So what do you say now? You're giving me a chance to make you queen of my kingdom." asked Zed

Zed himself couldn't believe he had said that to Vania.

"Hum you know it's true that I find you very nice Zed but are you sure that you and me can work?" Vania worried.

"It's not about whether or not it will work Vania, it's about giving us a chance to open a new page and write our story there. Maybe we'll both end up at the end of the book…" reassured Zed with romance.

"So I never imagined you would say that to me. I really want to give you a chance, Zed." said Vanya

"Really?" asked Zed

"Yes." answered Vania

She had that snake look on him. Zed was about to give her a kiss when Vania's phone rang, it was her friend Yvette.

"Hello my darling, we're looking for you everywhere, you left without telling us where you were going" growled Yvette

"You were still sleeping when I left. But I'm with Zed we study together you know tomorrow it's our turn." said Vanya

"Ah OK." Yvette exclaimed.

"I'll come when we're done." said Vanya

"Great see you soon!" said Yvette

"Yes not soon." answered Vania

Then she hung up.

"So where were we?" she asked, putting the phone down on the coffee table.

"I believe you were confiding in me." replied Zed

"Okay, I'll give you a chance. But you have to promise me that you won't be one of those who play with the feelings of the Zed girls." said Vanya

"I think you know me well enough not to know that playing the Don Juan is not my forte." said zed

"You never know huh" says Vania

"I love you very much Vania and I want if you want I will make you the woman of my life." replied Zed

" It goes straight to my heart Zed I love you too. But everything is not sure yet to consider the best and the worst, we must finish our studies before tackling the question." said Vanya

"That's good. Are you thirsty? I paid for some sodas." zed asked

"Oh yes very thirsty." answered Vania

Zed went quickly to unpack his packaging and took two sodas from it. Opened it for Vania and handed it to her.

"Take care of yourself my darling!"

"Cheers my darling!" replied Vania

After taking a sip Vania asked:

"Can I ask you a question Zed?"

" Yes go ahead"

"How many girls have you courted?"

"Hmm, I don't have a mania for flirting with anything that moves Vania." he answered

"Oh please don't tell me I'm your first love?" said Vanya

"And why are you interested in the question?" asked Zed

"You are young and beautiful and surely you will find other girls prettier than me" said Vania

"If it can reassure you Vania in my eyes you are the last prototype of beauty that God has created. I don't think any other girl would look prettier to me than you." replied Zed

"You make me dream Zed. You're trying to drive me crazy about you that's it huh" exclaimed Vania smiling

"Why not" replied Zed, smiling too.

"I want to be honest with you. There was a guy at my university who was chasing me. I was about to crack when we were announced for the conference and luckily I passed the test and I been selected." confessed Vania

"Now you're worried that when it's all over he might start again and you'll accept his advances?" asked Zed

"It's a bit of that. But rest assured sweetie. I fell in love with you Zed since middle school and you were too dumb not to see it." reassured Vanya

"Hum, I remind you that there was this photo story that ruined everything." Zed reminded

"She had her ego. And you know what happened to her?" asked Vania

"What did she die?" replied Zed

"No, pregnant shortly before taking the baccalaureate exams. Her incorrigible father forced her to marry." replied Vania

"Oh, with his grimaces and his airs of Queen Elizabeth, a guy dared to impregnate him?? How I would like to shake his hand that one" laughed Zed

"Don't make fun of her. She was also my friend." said Vanya

"Ah what a beautiful time, I still remember like it was yesterday." said Zed

Vania put her half-empty soda on the table next to the books.

"Enough about the past sweetie. You know we'd be forced into a long distance relationship since we live in different towns." she says

"I know. But you know my uncle Yannis still lives in the same city, during the holidays I go to his house and soon it will be the Christmas holidays we will meet again." said Zed

"Do you promise me that you will come?" Vania asked.

"Promising you is not enough I guarantee you that I will come from time to time." reassured Zed

"Okay. I love you my darling" said Vania

"And me even more my darling. Can I ask you something?" asked Zed

"What ?" retorted Vania

"Can you give me a kiss I'm dying to kiss you Vania." asked Zed

She gave him a dazzled look.

"Oh men always too anxious." said Vania

"It's because you're so beautiful." said Zed

"Ok just a kiss I have to go home already" Vania gave in.

Zed leaned into her lips and snatched a fiery kiss from her. Vania had to pull away from his lips.

"Oh that's enough! Do you want to rip them off or what" she moaned.

"Sorry the taste of your lips intoxicates me." Zed apologized

Vania picked up her books from the table.

"There I have to go." said Vania

"See you tomorrow darling I wish you good luck with your debate." said Zed

"Thank you darling bye and good night." said Vanya

"Thank you too I love you" said Zed

"I love you Zed" says Vania

Then Zed closed the door behind her. He went to throw himself into his bed. He dreamed of her with his eyes open…. He never felt in his skin as he was. He remembered his conversation with Vania. Thus Frédéric was right: Once you get started, you will be amazed at the fluidity of your words…

Vania met her friends who were waiting for her...

"You look good Vania, were your lessons with Zed?" Launched Yvette a little ironically.

"Let go of me, I'm tired" replied Vania.

Then she went to lie down looking pensive. Surely she must have been thinking about that time spent with Zed…

Zed hadn't slept a wink until Frederic was back.

"What's sleeping like that man?" Asked Frederic

Zed flashed a bright smile.

"Fred guess what!"

"Oh oh let me guess you did it??" Frederic asked

" YES !!!" Zed replied he had almost shouted.

"Oh no, I don't believe it, you finally succeeded" said Frédéric

"You were right, it wasn't as complicated as it looked." said Zed

"And I who thought you were going to play the sissy again, go give me Five" said Frédéric

Zed gave him a hand.

"We have to celebrate that" suggested Frédéric.

"Yeah but there's nothing to drink." said Zed

"These idiots forbid us to go out after 10 p.m." said Frédéric

"But who said that to drink you just have to go out, you just have to order the hotel service, I have a little change." said Zed

"Good idea, what are we ordering champagne?" asked Frederic

"Hmm no vodka." said Zed

Frederic jumped on the landline and placed the order. A few minutes later, a man came to deliver the drink. 4 bottle of vodka.

"I have a feeling it's going to be a party, my friend," said Frédéric. "You have to let off steam a little, you deserve it."

"Yeah man you don't know how glad I am I even kissed her." said Zed

"Oh the cow! So you assured go mole there." Frederic said

They spent the time chatting.

"Come on man tell me everything" inquired Frédéric.

Zed began to narrate everything without omitting any detail.

" Wow I'm proud of you. But you know I don't like long distance relationships." Frederic said

"It's not that complicated. I'll spend all the holidays with my uncle, we'll see each other often." said Zed

"Cool, I'm raising my glass to Zed, the man who finally knew how to break the ice in front of his beloved Vania" commented Frédéric raising his glass.

The boys drank too much alcohol and fell asleep half drunk……… To be continued!
