Chapter eighteen

My mom walked away, shutting the door behind her. After a few minutes of solitude with myself, there was a low knock on my door. "Come in!!" I said, not knowing when the word came out of my lips.

My eyes shot red to see the person before me. "What is this old skunk doing here? Isn't he supposed to be outside with his duly beloved wife? Why is he coming into my room?" I thought in my head, lifting up myself from my bed to take a closer look at him as I watched in walk slowly into my room.

"Hey, Becky." I scoffed, "Why does he always have to start with "Hey"

"What do you want?" I yelled at him "You don't have to raise your voice, I can raise other stuff and you can raise other better things too than your voice" He laughed sarcastically and sat down on the seat in the room.

My mind fled and had to critically think about what he meant by raising other stuff apart from my voice.
