My husband has a violent gene. Should I keep my unborn baby?

Staring at the two lines on the pregnancy test, I fell into deep thought. It had been almost ten years of this tumultuous relationship with Troy Walker.

Now that we were having a baby, maybe it was time to finally accept my situation.

Even if he was like a mad dog, I was the one holding the leash.

Having made peace with this thought, I took a photo of the pregnancy test and sent it to Troy, who was away on a business trip.

Soon after, I heard a loud commotion downstairs.

Looking through the window, I saw my long-absent mother-in-law Lucy, marching up with a group of elderly women, all of them hurling insults as they approached.

"What a disgrace to our family!"

"Sisters, if she hadn't gone too far, would we ever air our family's dirty laundry like this?"

"Today, I don't care about my reputation - I'm going to tear that cheating witch apart!"

I listened briefly before losing interest. Since our marriage, Lucy had always resented me for "stealing" her son. After constantly trying to make my life miserable, she ended up getting her finger broken by Troy and was thrown out of the house.

Needless to say, our relationship was beyond repair.

A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door.

I checked the time - it was only 9 AM. Why was our housekeeper here so early?

Puzzled, I opened the door.

Lucy and her elderly friends barged right in.

Before I could make sense of the situation, Lucy pointed at me with her crooked finger. "Look everyone, this is that wicked daughter-in-law who convinced my son to break my finger shortly after their marriage!"

"She even made my son throw me and his sister out of the house and cut ties with us."

I frowned in displeasure. "This is my home. Please leave."

But Lucy suddenly slapped me across the face.

"You ungrateful witch! My son has given you his heart and soul all these years, and you repay him by cheating!"

The pain was intense, leaving my head spinning.

Since marrying Troy, if someone even accidentally bumped into me, he would beat them senseless. If he found out his mother had slapped me today, she would face severe consequences.

To prevent a family tragedy, I suppressed my anger and warned, "Leave now, and I'll pretend this never happened."

Though Troy was gentle and compliant with me, his condition made him ruthlessly violent toward others.

But Lucy wouldn't back down. She grabbed my hair viciously and snarled, "Feeling guilty, aren't you? If you dare to cheat, you better be prepared to face the consequences."

I broke free from her grip and said coldly, "You dare accuse me of cheating? Have you forgotten how your finger got broken?"
