“Visitors have arrived!” shouted Beth from the front of the house.

That surprised me.

I was not in the mood for visitors; the epidemiological fence was on, so no one could enter or leave the pack without permission, so I peeked in to see what was really going on.

My face uncrossed in surprise when I saw Amelie standing next to an old woman I recognized as a sorceress. And she wasn't just any old sorceress. I could tell the woman was old, wise, and full of knowledge.

The old woman looked at everything with suspicion, as if she was studying the core of my pack. That bothered me a lot, but I was still relieved to see Amelie.
