Carried away…

Fredrick’s phone rang noisily cutting through the thick tension that had formed in the room. He glanced at his screen, it was Nei-nei.

He contemplated the welfare of his grandma and his heart instantly sank as he remembered her condition. He couldn’t afford to miss her calls anymore. He had been too busy with getting the contract ready that he forgot to check on her. As he pressed the phone to his left ear, he felt a sudden wave of guilt grip him

“Nei-nei…” he muttered apologetically.

“Freddie, did you get home safe? Is Avery with you? Have you met her family yet?” Grandma Jojo said in one breathe.

She was particularly eager about the wedding, not just because she wanted to see Freddie get married but she had taken a liking to Avery. She really did seem virtuous and impudent- exactly the kind of woman that could contend with Fredrick, even though he hadn’t realized it yet.

Grandma Jojo hoped that he realized it himself that marrying Avery was a good choice.
