Camilla’s POV.

The life I had anticipated as Steve’s wife wasn’t what I got.

I had thought we would live as strangers, minding each other’s business, but I was wrong.

He didn’t behave like a stranger I had seen him to be. He was kind, attentive, and cared for me. He made sure to express his support for me in the best possible way he could.

At first, I kept my distance. I slept at night with one eye open, thinking of the best way to escape in case he decided to show his true color, but that moment never came.

Each morning, he would wake up by my side, kissed my forehead and smiled at me like we had known each other for years. And on that bed, I would sit, wondering what the hell was I doing?

I sometimes forgot I was married, but the ring on my finger always pulled me back into reality.

Steve was patient with me- he never demanded that I return the affection he showed me. He just stayed by my side, promising a better tomorrow with him.

And one more thing, he kept his prom

  • NORA: THE MAFIA QUEEN; THE ALPHA'S MATE   When the Veil Drops

Camilla’s POVI woke up to the beeping of monitor placed beside me. I was lying on a hospital bed- the hospital that didn't seem familiar to me.I didn't remember how I got there- the last thing I remembered was collapsing by the seashore.I dragged myself up, resting my back on the bedrail. My head was still slightly hurting, but it was far better than the pain I felt before I fainted.I reached for my bag which was placed on the mini table beside my bed. I ravaged through it in search of my phone and I eventually got a hold of it.I thought I had slept for a few hours, but the date and time I saw upon unlocking my phone said otherwise.June 15 ……. 5:20pm- that was what I saw. I could remember Steve and I had visited the hospital on the 14th day of June, which meant I had been in the hospital for the past 24 hours.I saw missed calls- messages from Steve and my mind immediately went to him.“Steve…. He would be worried right now. He would have been searching for me. I need to call hi

  • NORA: THE MAFIA QUEEN; THE ALPHA'S MATE   Till My Body Breaks

Camilla’s POV My life couldn't be better as I watched Anthony grow right in front of me. I was blessed- more than I had ever thought. He made me forget about the pains and hurt I had ever experienced. I got the chance to fulfil my wishes- to run in the garden with my kid as other parents did, to spin my child in the air with his pleasant laughter filling my ears. Life progressed and so my love with Steve deepened. He was a great husband to me, and the best father to Anthony. Where I fell short of being available for Anthony, Steve and Cassandra were present to fill in the gap.Anthony was very fond of Cassandra, so Steve and I agreed to make her live with us- for Anthony's sake. I was scared she wouldn't agree at first, but luckily, she did. I made up my mind to give up on trying to have a child of my own as I felt Anthony was sufficient for me- he was more than I had wished for. But Steve didn't let me. He kept on insisting we try another round of IVF or better still get a

  • NORA: THE MAFIA QUEEN; THE ALPHA'S MATE   The Child Who Chose Me

Camilla’s POV Steve didn’t waste time checking into different orphanages. He suggested we go for an infant since I feared the child not loving me. “If you raise the child yourself, nurture him, there’s no way you wouldn’t love him and he wouldn’t love you back in return,” those were his words and after giving it much thought, I agreed with him. It took us weeks before we finally found a child that suited our taste- most especially mine. He was so cautious with the selection process. He asked me what I pictured our child to be, and that was exactly what we went for. Appointments were scheduled with the orphanage where the child was, and a day to finalize the whole process was fixed. I didn’t get to see the child physically until the fixed date as I was so occupied with an upcoming project at my company. I only saw his photograph and the seconds I did, I instantly fell in love with him. Steve followed through the whole process. And then, the day came- the day I was meant to mee

  • NORA: THE MAFIA QUEEN; THE ALPHA'S MATE   The Longest Wait for Love

Camilla’s POV. Giving love a chance with Steve felt like the best decision I took ...... or so I had thought. His presence made me feel complete, his love for me made me feel special, and I couldn’t wish for anything more. I just wanted to be by his side- as his wife, his companion, his everything. I thought my happiness would last forever, but life had its plan. Beneath the smile we both put on every day, lay a grief that burdened our hearts. Our inability to have a child of our own. Days, weeks, months and years passed and the silence in our home became more deafening. No cries or laughter of a child, no little footsteps stomping the stairs, no little hands to wipe away my tears when I cried- just hope......... and then, disappointment. At first, I thought it was because of stress and the fact that I didn’t put my mind to it, but that wasn’t the case. I rested well, always had it at the back of my mind that I wanted a child each time Steve and I mated, but still no pos

  • NORA: THE MAFIA QUEEN; THE ALPHA'S MATE   She Was Never His

Williams/Drevyn's POV There she was, standing at the altar with him by her side. She was dressed in a white flowery gown which accentuated her figure. Her face was masked with light make-up with a bouquet of flowers held in her hands. Her expression was unreadable- I couldn’t tell whether she was happy with the wedding or not. She just stood beside Steve, who was shining his teeth like he had won a trophy. That was supposed to be her and I standing at the altar, exchanging vows. Ten years. Ten good years- I had watched her from afar, unable to touch or hold her in my arms. I had hoped during those ten years that she would be mine again- that she would find her way back to my arms, but I guess I was wrong. The woman I once knew- I once loved, had been exchanged with another personality- someone who couldn’t remember my name, talk more of recognizing who I was. My mind trailed back to the day before, when I learnt about her wedding to Steve. I was seated in the living r
