When I woke up, I stretched out without thinking about it. I was surprised to find that I was no longer in the bag. Dominique didn’t even like to sleep in the bed with me because I was cold when I died for the day. She had overcome her fear enough to take me out of the bag, which required touching me. I knew before I even opened my eyes that she was not in the bed with me. I sighed and sat up. The room I was in was dark, but I heard the sounds of a TV show playing. I smelled food, so Dominique must be in the suite's living room. I got up and realized it was so dark in the room because the sun was setting, and blackout curtains were hanging up. Dominique must have brought them with her as I saw the hooks on the wall holding them up. I had not thought about doing this. It was thoughtful of Dominique.

“Yes. I have heard you tell Nathaniel that the voice sounds like a mixture of mine and Alpha’s. That is why. I know that’s not what you wanted to hear, Dom. But you had to have known. The things I have said have been from a man’s point of view. Alpha was Luna’s mate, yes, but he thinks of you as his mate and would talk to you as his mate. I’m talking to you as your husband would. Please don’t feel bad about this, Dom. I feel lucky that I have spent this extra time with you.”I couldn’t help it. I started to cry. I had wondered about the voice but hoped I was wrong. I’d held Tim’s soul in that stone all this time. He hadn’t been at peace but had been trapped in a stone. The kids would never forgive me if they found out the truth. I wasn’t sure if I could forgive myself at this point. I was so selfish.

I walked over to where the driver was placing my bags onto a luggage trolley and took my wallet from my purse. I handed him 20 euros, and he thanked me. I smiled and walked back to the desk. The clerk gave me the room key and my ID. I thanked him and walked over to the elevator. The porter got on with me, and we went to the room. He must have thought it odd that I didn’t give him the bag from my back, but I ignored his strange looks. Once we got to the room, he unloaded the luggage onto the luggage racks, and I tipped him. He smiled and thanked me before exiting the room. I placed the bag on the bed and put my purse on the nightstand. The curtains were wide open, so I walked over to the windows and closed them. The room wasn’t pitch dark, but the sun wasn’t hitting directly on the bed. I walked over and unzipped the bag.

I woke up when the announcement about our landing came on. I was still cuddling Nathaniel in the bag. I sighed and sat up. I walked over to the seats and hooked my seatbelt. Once the plane landed, I grabbed the bag from the couch and was surprised it didn’t feel heavy. I must still have my strength, but it was awkward when I first tried lifting the bag. I put my hand in my pocket and felt the stone. I felt the energy coming off it and knew it would be glowing if I took it out. I didn’t realize how much it hurt Nathaniel that I always had the stone. I thought he understood that it was a part of Tim and that I wasn’t ready to let go of Tim just yet. I suppose being with him in every way that mattered in a relationship made him

“You could have offered to let me be your human servant and then allowed me to live my life with Tim, but you didn’t. Instead, you took what you wanted without a second thought about what I would think or feel about it. That made me angry, and I wanted to hurt you, so I went to Tim. I chose him automatically.
