I sat up from the bed instantly, my heart pounding wildly.

The middle-aged woman’s face flickered between surprise and concern at my sudden movement.

“Careful, dear,” she rushed toward me, placing a steadying hand on my shoulder.

“I’m fine,” I replied quickly. “Was the woman wearing a red silk rose gown?” I asked, my voice trembling with curiosity. I prayed what I was thinking wasn’t true.

The woman looked puzzled and shook her head.

“No, she wasn’t. She wore a blue ball gown, and her hair was pure white,” the healer answered gently.

I sighed in relief, sinking back into the bed.

"I don’t even own a blue gown… or have white hair. So how could someone with that appearance look like me?" I thought, eyes fixed on the chandelier above.

“Dear… you do realize you’re two weeks pregnant, right?”

Her voice cut through my thoughts, and I jolted slightly, my brows pulling together.

Two weeks? But the pack healer said I was only one week pregnant.

“Thank you for telling me,” I said slowly. Then something struck me.

“Damien! Does he have a mate? Is he wicked? Do you know anything about his brother?”

The healer’s face tensed in fear. She shook her head quickly.

“No... no, I don’t,” she stammered.

She looked genuinely scared.

I reached for her hand, squeezing gently. “Please. I just want to know.”

She sighed and sat beside me on the bed, lowering her voice.

“No, Lycan Damien doesn’t have a mate. I’ve been working for him since he was a pup. But about his twin brother… that’s a complicated story.” She paused, then turned to face me.

“I’m sorry, dear. I can’t say any more.” Her voice dropped, weighted with worry.

What’s going on?

Why are the twins separated? Why is no one saying anything?

Lucas never once mentioned having a brother. Not even a slip.

“It’s fine,” I whispered. “But I hope someday, I’ll find out.”

The door creaked open, and a set of maids entered, wheeling in a tray of food.

My mouth watered instantly as the scent filled the room.

One of them brought the tray to me, and without hesitation, I grabbed a blooded steak and took a large bite. The flavor melted on my tongue.

“Seems like you were hungry,” the healer said kindly, and the younger maid let out a soft chuckle.

I tried to chuckle along with them, but I couldn’t.

My heart was bitter. In pain.

I didn’t want to treat them coldly, but I couldn’t help it.

My appetite vanished.

I placed the meat back down, pushing the tray slightly away.

I couldn’t eat. Not when my thoughts kept returning to the betrayal.

Lucas must think I’m dead.

Well… too bad for him.

The healer seemed to notice the shift in my mood. She touched my shoulder again.

“Dear, are you okay? You seem… lost.”

“I...” I began, but stopped. My throat tightened, my vision blurred.

I wanted to scream. To fight. To cry.

I swallowed hard, forcing down the tears clawing at my throat, and took a shaky breath.

“I’m fine,” I whispered, my voice choked and barely audible.

“Dear… I know something’s wrong. But please remember, me and my student, Elizabeth, we’re here to help. Or just listen, whenever you need to talk,” she said gently.

Elizabeth, who had been standing quietly in the corner all this time, gave me a soft smile and nodded.

They were kind.

But I didn’t trust anyone anymore.

I had trusted my pack. I loved them like family.

And still… I heard their whispers.

I heard them supporting Lucas, cheering for my death, even knowing I was carrying a child.

Unknowingly, I began to crush the glass in my hand.

It wasn’t until I heard the faint cracking sound that I looked down, shocked.

I yelped and quickly dropped the cup onto the tray.

I glanced at the two women, both horrified by what they saw.

Without a word, I turned my back to them.

“Are you okay?” the healer asked again, her tone gentle.

I lay down quietly, pulling the covers up to my chest.

“What’s your name?”

I turned to her. “Ma… Elena,” I said sharply.

I would no longer bear the name Maddena. That name was tied to my past—tied to Lucas.

Now I am someone new. A new soul. A new beginning.

Once I fully recover, I will leave this pack.

I will find another place to belong, or maybe I’ll start over entirely.

But I want nothing to do with Lucas or his family ever again.

“That’s a beautiful name, Elena.”

“I’m Roberta, and as I said earlier, this is Elizabeth,” she smiled warmly, and I returned it weakly.

“Alright then. We’ll leave you to rest.”

She exited with her student, closing the door behind them.

Now, I was alone.

The room was quiet. Cold.

I sighed and shut my eyes tightly, my mind spinning with everything that had happened.

Slowly, my body gave in to exhaustion, and I drifted into sleep.

A week passed in Damien’s pack. Roberta and Elizabeth continued to care for me, but I hadn’t seen Damien—not once.

I asked about him, and the maids who took care of my needs said he’d gone to handle matters across the pack.

But rumors whispered something darker.

They said Damien was dangerous… possessed.

Even the mention of his name made the maids flinch.

I was lying on the bed, staring at the ceiling, when a soft knock pulled me out of thought.

“Good evening.”

A girl with sharp blue eyes and red hair stepped in, standing timidly at the entrance.

“Evening, dear. How may I help you?” I asked softly.

Her head remained bowed.

“Ma’am… Lycan Damien requests your presence at the dinner table.”

I frowned.

He's back? And wants me to dine with him? Why?

I was too broken to even stand.

“Please tell him I’m not coming. I’ll have dinner here in my room,” I replied quietly.

Immediately, she dropped to her knees.

My eyes widened.

“Please! If you don’t come with me, he’ll kill me. I don’t want to die. Please… just for my sake,” she sobbed.

I stared at her, stunned.

Damien would kill her… over this?

Chains of Truth“Here, Alpha Lucas. This is what we found,” Blaze announced, holding out a torn, dirty cloth, the same one Maddena wore the day she died.Lucas took it slowly, his fingers brushing over the rough fabric.“So… she’s truly dead?” he asked.Blaze nodded, his face lowered. “Yes, Alpha.”Lucas stared at the cloth for a moment, then smiled faintly. “Good. I hope you searched the ocean properly?”Blaze kept his expression sad, though inside, his blood boiled. “Yes, Alpha. Her coffin was destroyed by something dangerous. We even found pieces of her bones.”He waited for a reaction, a trace of guilt, sorrow, or regret. But instead, Lucas burst into laughter, the sound echoing across the hall.“Good!” he said again, laughing harder. “She deserves it! If only she were still alive, I’d feed her bones to wild dogs.”His eyes sparkled with cruel satisfaction. Blaze clenched his fists, struggling to keep his rage hidden.Lucas turned to a soldier nearby. “And what about the water?”

The Truth That Broke MeHer words pierced through my heart like a knife, leaving me bleeding inside. The air suddenly felt too heavy to breathe. My chest tightened, and my head began to spin. This couldn’t be real. It had to be a nightmare.“This can’t be right... this isn’t real, right?” I whispered, my voice shaking as I looked at the witch. Her lips curved into a small, knowing smirk. “I wish it wasn’t true,” she said coldly. “But you can’t deny the way you are drawn to Damien. You know something was off.”Her words hit me again like thunder. She was right. Deep down, I knew something had been wrong with this pregnancy from the start. I ignored every sign, every strange feeling.Moon Goddess, no... this can’t be happening. So Lucas was right about being infertile? My chest rose and fell quickly. My whole body trembled as my blood turned cold. My vision blurred as tears filled my eyes.“Dear, there’s no use fainting,” the witch said, her voice sharp. “You must accept the truth.”She

My breath heaved as I squeezed my toes on the bed, sweat pouring down my forehead. My whole body trembled with fear.I had been running, or at least it felt like I had. The nightmare was so real, I could still feel the earth beneath my feet and the darkness swallowing me whole. I screamed, but the sound vanished into the night as a dark energy chased me through the forest. My lungs burned, my legs ached, yet I kept running until I dared to look back. That was when I saw her, the same woman I had seen earlier in the garden. Her eyes were hollow, filled with something ancient and terrifying. She whispered words that pierced through me like knives.“You are bearing the pack heir.”I jolted awake, gasping for air. My breathing sounded loud and heavy in the silence of the room. My heart pounded so fast I could almost hear it echo. I pressed my shaly hands to my stomach, trying to calm down, but my mind was spinning.Ever since I met that woman, my life had turned into a nightmare. I saw h

“Are you just going to stand there and pretend this is normal?” Simon, adviser to Beta Blaze, snapped as they trudged through the dark forest. The night was cold, the air thick with mist, and the only sounds were the distant chirping of crickets and the crunch of their boots on dead leaves.Blaze turned slightly, his face blank. “Meaning?” he asked in confusion.Simon scoffed. “Your Alpha is losing his mind, Blaze. Evil is sinking into him, slowly consuming whatever is left of his sanity.” His voice rose, echoing through the trees.Blaze couldn’t help but chuckle bitterly. He was almost relieved that people were finally noticing what he had known all along, Lucas, their Alpha, was going insane. And soon, the pack would see it too. Sooner or later, he’d be stripped of his title.“That’s what happens,” Blaze said quietly, “when you kill an innocent person.”Simon stopped walking. His hand shot up, signaling for the rest of the soldiers behind them to halt. “Then tell me,” he said, turni

I inhaled deeply, bracing myself for the worst. I knew what I just did would start a war, but I didn’t care anymore. Lucas broke me. He shattered my trust, my love, and every piece of hope I once had. He wanted to kill me and my baby. He made it seem like he never loved me, like I was just a passing distraction, something to use and discard when he was done.My hands clenched into fists, trembling as I remembered the way he threw me into the ocean, without hesitation, without remorse. His cold eyes stared down at me as if all these years, he’d been waiting for the perfect moment to finally end me. And he did. Because the day he threw me into that river, something inside me died. Love died. Hope died. Care died. Trust died. All that remained now was pure, burning hatred.Suddenly, Damien’s hands grabbed mine, pulling me out of the darkness of my thoughts. I looked up, startled and confused. I didn’t understand why my body reacted so sharply to his touch. My heart raced, and I blinked r

The word hit like a bomb. Lucas froze the moment he heard Maddena’s name. His whole body went stiff, and his hands slowly curled into tight fists. He felt his chest tighten as anger and pain burned through him like fire. Slowly, his cold, sharp eyes turned toward the soldier who had spoken, his jaw clenching. “What do you mean?” he asked in a low, dangerous tone. His voice was sharp enough to cut through the air. Maddena. That was a name he never wanted to hear again — not after everything. It was a name that tore open every wound he tried to bury. The soldier swallowed hard, clearly afraid to speak. “Her hair clip was found in the woods, Alpha,” he said carefully. “On a small walkway near the ocean… the same ocean she was thrown into.” For a moment, silence filled the room. Blaze stood beside Lucas, his expression calm, though his heart had started to pound. He could feel the tension rising in the air like a storm about to break. “Maybe it was just the waves,” Blaze said qui
