Dorry

With a deep sigh, I watched the airplane carrying my parents back to Canada disappear into the distance.

I understood why they had to leave me so quickly, but I couldn’t help feeling hurt.

They trusted me with someone they didn’t even fully know. Worse, they seemed thrilled by Nelson’s promises—promises I knew were nothing but empty words.

Nelson and I don’t get along. We never have, and we never will.

"Now that your parents are gone, we’re free to do whatever we want. And most especially, I’m free to do what I want with you!”

That annoying voice!

I turned to him and shot him a sharp glare.

His smug grin sent a chill down my spine.

“In your dreams, Nelson! Do you think I’d ever let you have your way with me? Sure, I’m a woman, but I’m not weak like you think I am!”

He laughed—a short, bitter laugh, the kind he always used to provoke me.

That’s just who he is. His laughter is either deliberate or tinged with bitterness, just like him.

And yes, I admit, I’m bitter too. But between

Nelson"What the hell, Nelson?!"After a few moments of stunned silence from Dorry because of my sudden kiss and the way my tongue had invaded her mouth, she finally found her voice and shoved me with all her strength. Now, she was glaring at me with blazing eyes, furiously wiping her lips over and over again. The way she wiped her mouth was like something filthy had stuck to her, or as if she were terrified of catching some disease.I let out a bitter laugh as I watched her. It was already insulting enough that she didn’t come home last night. It was insulting enough that she spent the entire night with another man. And her reaction just added to my insult—a new level of insult. She was making it painfully clear how much she despised me. Like I was some kind of filthy object she didn’t want touching her skin.“Disgusted, Dorry?” I asked, a grin on my face, though inside I was a raging storm, ready to explode. She should be grateful I didn’t confront her earlier. Lucky for her, I don’

  • Nelson de Vedra: The Outcast Billionaire   Chapter 14

"Why are you just getting home now?" Nelson's question caught me off guard.I had been feeling drained earlier, but now my adrenaline was spiking, all thanks to this monkey greeting me at the door. It’s seven in the morning, and I didn’t expect him to be here still. He usually leaves early, whether it’s a weekday or weekend—he never misses a beat. Why hasn’t he left today? Was he waiting for me?Maybe he really was waiting for me. After all, he’s the one who opened the door. There's not even a hint of shame on his face after the disgusting thing he said yesterday. But then again, he’s shameless and thick-skinned, so he probably buried that perverted comment deep in his memory by now."Didn’t you tell me to come home early? Now you’re questioning me?" I quipped, smirking with that annoying grin of his.My eyes narrowed. "Can you just get out of my face? You’re an eyesore!" I snapped irritably, though my gaze betrayed me as it secretly roamed over his sweaty body. Clearly, he was flaunt

I smiled bitterly. Yes, Hector is my cousin.A cousin who mercilessly beat up my best friend.I clenched my fist as my gaze froze once again on Hector, who was smiling. That monster! They took a life, and now he's the one smiling and happy. He has no right to be happy. He has no right to laugh or enjoy the life he has now—he has no right.I knew I was their target that night. They wanted me gone from this world, but unfortunately, my best friend was ambushed instead because they thought it was me driving the car.I blamed myself for what happened to my friend. I couldn't accept that I lost my best friend—and my cousin was the reason why. If only I hadn’t let him leave that night. If I hadn’t lent him my car, he’d still be alive. He’d still be with me today.Regret gnawed at me, but there’s nothing I can do. My best friend is gone. What’s even more painful is that I haven’t given him justice. The people who killed him are still free.We didn’t have solid evidence that Hector's group wa

Nelson"Ex-boyfriend?"I muttered, my gaze following Dorry as she hurried away, her strides impossibly large.I could only run a hand through my hair and let out a bitter laugh. "Hector, her ex-boyfriend?" "What a life!" I exclaimed. She's worse than flirtatious—she’s a foolish flirt who insists on pushing herself onto the man who hurt her before."Sir Nelson!""What?!" I snapped at Jac, whose startled face reflected my abrupt outburst."Sir Nelson, why are you upset?" Jac asked, his eyes wide. He glanced at Dorry, who was now walking down the hallway."I'm sorry. My temper's flaring," I quickly apologized, my pace slowing as I walked away.Jac silently fell into step beside me, though I noticed him stealing glances my way repeatedly."How's the task I gave you?" I asked, but my eyes instinctively wandered to Dorry and Hector's table, where they were now eating."Everything’s been handled, Sir Nelson," Jac replied, though his gaze also drifted to their table.I couldn’t help but glan

"Hi, my friend," Nelson greeted with a sly grin as he approached our table, though his sharp gaze was fixed on Hector.I didn’t say a word. Neither did Hector, but it was clear from his expression that he didn’t appreciate Nelson barging in on us.I wasn’t thrilled either. We had already talked about this...but here he was again, ruining my plan. He was clearly trying to make a scene.“What’s up? Did I ruin the mood?” he asked, his grin widening. I simply glared at him in response.“Come on, guys, don’t be like that. Go on with your little chat,” he said mockingly. “Unless, of course, you don’t mind someone else listening in. Me? I wouldn’t mind at all.”His gaze darted back and forth between Hector and me, his grin unwavering but his eyes blazing with intensity.I wasn’t sure why I couldn’t react, why I couldn’t just call him out. All I could do was steal glances at Hector, who, like me, was holding back.I was afraid, afraid that if I spoke carelessly, my plans might crumble.“This

"Sir Hector, please," I said uncomfortably, gently grabbing his hand and moving it away from my thigh. "We’re no longer in the office, but that doesn’t make it right for you to touch me like that, sir," I added calmly.I kept my composure, but deep down, I was furious. The urge to slap him was overwhelming. What kind of mindset does he have? Did he think that just because he’s my boss, I’d let him flirt with me? He’s disgusting!"Sir, I think you misunderstood… When we’re outside the office, you’re no longer my boss; you’re just a friend, sir," I added. He looked embarrassed, adjusting his necktie as he cleared his throat. He shot a subtle glare at the driver, who kept glancing at us through the rearview mirror.I tugged my skirt down a bit, trying to cover more of my thigh. I knew he noticed what I did.He must have sensed my discomfort, realizing that I was no longer at ease sitting next to him.Yes, this is what I wanted—to attract him, to make him want me so badly that he’d go cra

Dorry’s car came to a stop in front of a gate.“Is this your house?” I asked, my eyes fixed on the sprawling, modern home before me.I avoided meeting Dorry’s gaze, unwilling to let her read anything in my eyes. I didn’t want her to ask questions, to probe into the meaning of my words, or worse, to make me open up about something she’d never given me the chance to share back then.“Yes,” she answered as the gate slowly opened. She glanced at me, her expression puzzled as if she wanted to ask more.I let out a bitter smile. Of course, she’d be confused. She thought I was nothing more than an insignificant islander. She never saw or knew the real me—not like Diego and Vianna May, who, though unaware of my full story, at least understood my true nature.“You really are rich. Your house is enormous,” I said, sweeping my gaze across the property as the car started moving again.Their front yard was small but beautifully landscaped, perfectly complementing the two-story, earth-toned modern

Dorry immediately yanked her hand away from the man and hurried over to me.I smirked. Her strides were so large, that she reached me in no time. And it seemed like she didn’t want the man to see my face—she even stood in front of me, blocking his view.“Nelson, what are you doing? I told you to wait outside! You’re so stubborn,” Dorry said angrily, narrowing her eyes at me. “You’re embarrassing! “Embarrassing?" I asked "You’re embarrassing me in front of my boss. Barging into the office without permission!” she added."I got bored. You were taking forever. And besides, it’s scorching hot outside, Dorry, so I came in to cool off. Turns out, there’s an even hotter scene to witness here!”“Dorothy, who is he?” the man Dorry was speaking with asked calmly. His voice was so soft, so pleasant to hear, that I instantly knew he was pretending. Too good to be true—that’s how his kindness seemed. And poor Dorry had no clue she was just being reeled in.“I’m sorry, Hector,” she said, turning
