Chapter 3

The pastor of New York was known for his generosity even to the point of magnanimity, he even donated hectares of land for the homeless. He had been preaching for more than half of his lifetime, committed to serving the community, and passionate about spreading the Word of God.

The politics behind religion was never greater than the religion behind politics. He always said to his congregation. This pastor was also well-known for his miracles. He was the modern Messiah of America for many.

Last month, he was said to prevent earthquakes in Peru. He even prayed that the flash floods in Texas stop. And it did. With his congregation, they also saved lives when he appealed to the public to donate money for the restoration of a jungle where animals and plants lost their home after a wildfire recently.

In addition, he raised donations for cancer patients for a foundation. He was also helping non-government organizations find online volunteers to help and support their mission.

As the prominent modern Messiah of America, he championed kindness and compassion, and empathy.

He had also traveled to distant lands like Israel, India, Philippines, Rome, Brazil, etc. so he could preach the Word of God.

When the head of the Victor family contacted this reverend pastor to ask for spiritual guidance about Napoleon’s disappearance, Rev. Pastor Elijah Simon offered help and support immediately. The pastor asked for a prayer meeting with the family. He believed that he could positively impact their lives with his miraculous intervention.

"Rev. Pastor Elijah Simon, can you work wonders now with our family?" Sarah asked.

"Only God can do miracles. I am just an instrument of God's love."

"You are a blessing from God to our family."

They were seated in the living room, a tiny couch where they exchanged nods and smiles. The reverend pastor wore his usual tattered jeans and t-shirt. Yes, he was "modern" not just in that sense but "modern" because he acted like any normal human being.

"Where is your youngest son?" Rev. Pastor Elijah Simon asked.

However, Isaac was the only one who was not around, nobody knew his whereabouts.

"Must be busy with his physics."

"He's from Princeton, right?"

"Harvard."

It was the yuletide season, many Catholics commiserate with the Vatican after the pope’s mysterious death, even other religious sects were empathizing with the Roman Catholic Church. The Muslim leaders offered Allah a solemn prayer for the eternal repose of the soul of the pope. Several priests, pastors, and religious leaders also expressed their deepest condolences for the Catholic community.

Meanwhile, Allison reached the secret meeting place with Isaac.

“My cousin was kidnapped by an unknown group. They wanted the president to step down.”

“We need your father more than ever. Napoleon is also missing. I believe it was the Vatican’s scheme to divide us all.”

“Do you think it was also the Vatican that kidnapped my cousin?”

“Yes. And no.”

“Why?”

“We will find out for ourselves soonest.”
