Chapter 5

When the assassination happened, President Samuel Cooper was almost aghast that he would still tell this tale. Now that this happened to him, his killers must be associated with the murderer of the pope.

"Do you really think this has something to do with His Holiness' death?"

"Absolutely."

"I thought the assassin will target my head."

"Good thing you had nine lives."

"Stop kidding me, Sarah!"

Allison is the only daughter of the American president with his wife, Sarah. He had other affairs but he never had children aside from his spouse.

Allison looked exactly like her father, almost like her mother's personality. She must be a mixture of different races.

While at the hospital, the president asked to speak with his daughter also. Allison was not to be found, she was not even answering her phone, she was not even with her personal guards. She might be with her friends. 

This led to his father worrying about his child, especially since it was almost midnight. Where could she possibly be? Anxiety was crowding his encephalon. Will there be peace of mind even if just for a minute? Tonight was one of the longest nights for their family. For the whole nation. For the whole world.

"Dad, what happened to you? Are you okay now?"

"Where have you been, dear?"

"I just called because I'm worried about you and Mom. I'll soon go home. Just need to finish an important business."

"Is that business more important than us?"

"Of course not."

"Why not go home now?"

"If you only knew."

"Care to elaborate?"

"This is top-secret. For now, I need you to promise me you will take care of yourself as well as Mom. I just need to straighten things up myself."

"Who were you with right now? You're not with your security personnel."

"Don't worry about me. I'm in good hands."

Allison was hesitant to tell his family that she was with Isaac right now trying to solve a mystery together. 

The American president attempted to move his head but it was hurting. 

"Maybe I'm too old."

"Your daughter needs us. I think she has a problem."

"How can we help her if she is not even confiding us with her whereabouts?"

"Perhaps we are just over-thinking."

"No. This is not just anxiety. I hope you won't invalidate our feelings."

His wife helped him change clothes. The president didn't want a nurse or a doctor to change the former's shirt. 

"Now that media persons are outside, how can we maintain privacy now with our lives?"

"Everyone knows about it. You're the highest official in our country. The most powerful person in this world."

"You're my kryptonite."

"Stop teasing me. Get well soon first."

"Will you still wage war against China and Korea?"

"What do you think? Is this the most logical thing to do?!

"Love is more important than logic."

"But the world doesn't revolve around love alone. Wars take place because others are greedy of power."

"This is a debate between the power of love and love of power. I'm afraid I might lose you or I might lose myself in the process."
