Elena’s P.O.V
“I…I’m sorry…for the other day.” Knight apologized. He had his hands on his lap and his face drawn in harsh lines. He had bags under his eyes, indicating that he hadn’t been sleeping well.
“Why did you do it?” I tilted my head to the side, studying him. I didn’t know him well enough to understand if he would lie to my face, but I hoped he would give me an honest reply.
“Couldn’t we have spoken somewhere privately?” He asked finally, loosening his tie as he looked around at all the people inside the restaurant.
