Nova’s POV

The next few days after our goodbye to Ty were… surprisingly normal. Like eerily, suspiciously normal.

We all went to class like we were regular students. Me and Aiden kept walking through those school hallways like nothing had happened, pretending not to notice the stares and whispers that followed us around like shadows. Hand in hand, we moved through it like we didn’t care. And maybe we didn’t. At least, not as much as I expected to. The gossips didn’t bother me half as much as they used to. Maybe I was changing.

Eli, on the other hand, had been weirdly hyper since the whole Ty situation. Arnold said it was his coping mechanism—which, fair enough. That manic energy lasted a few days before Eli simmered back down. Now he was his usual self again, just with a little less spark in his eyes. But I’d take that over total silence any day.

The more time I spent with Aiden, the more I fell for him. Like, hard. And not just because of the dimples or the way he always knew when to

Rex’s POVThe past few hours had been nothing but a blur, yet the steady warmth of Aries lying beside me grounded it all in reality. He was here. Really here. I could hear his breathing, feel the weight of his arm draped lazily across my waist. Outside our door, I could sense the presence of others, hovering, hesitant, like they weren’t quite sure if they were allowed to approach. Not that I blamed them. An Alpha in their midst wasn’t something the banished saw every day… much less an Alpha mated to the Elegida.“What are you thinking about, love?” Aries murmured, pressing a quick kiss to my lips before sitting up. His tone was casual, but his eyes stayed fixed on me, reading me like he always did.“Let me guess,” he said with a half-smile. “You’re already thinking about how to help the banished, aren’t you?”I chuckled softly. “How did you know?”“Because I know you.” He tightened his arms around me. “That—and I was thinking the exact same thing. I’ve barely been here a day, Rex, and

Nova’s POVThroughout the ride back home, Arnold kept stealing glances at me like he was trying to read my mind. I was more than sure he failed because I kept my expression neutral.I wasn’t mad—at least, not at Aiden. I was just annoyed that I let myself get dragged into that situation in the first place. We stayed silent until we got home. My phone buzzed a couple of times probably messages from Aiden, but I ignored it for now. I’d check once I was settled.“Are you not going to say a word?” Arnold asked the moment we stepped inside, flopping onto the couch. “As far as I know, Aiden was supposed to bring you back. So why am I the one picking you up?” His eyebrow arched.“That was Judy’s house,” I said plainly, sitting beside him.“Yeah… I kind of figured that out,” he sighed. “So what happened? Aiden ditched you and you decided to run for it?”“Yeah, that’s exactly what happened.” I leaned back.“Oh.” His tone said he didn’t believe me.“They started talking about their history with

Nova’s POV It felt like the air in the car had come to a complete standstill. Ten minutes of silence, tension, and awkward energy thick enough to choke on. Aiden kept clenching the wheel like it owed him money, while Judy made TikToks in the back seat like we weren’t all dying of discomfort.Seriously? Of all times, she chose now to film content?I didn’t get it. But whatever. I just sat there, quiet, watching the time tick by like it was my only lifeline.“It’ll be over soon,” I told myself. That was the only thing keeping me sane.Five more minutes crawled by. Yes, I was staring at the clock the whole time.Eventually, we pulled into a driveway that I assumed was Judy’s house. It had that "oh I’m rich, but I’m pretending to be casual about it” kind of vibe—very similar to Aiden’s house. That cold, polished aura that made you feel like you needed permission just to breathe.Aiden pulled in like he’d done it a million times, like it was second nature. That stung more than I wanted to

  • Nightmare turned love    Goodbyes

Nova’s POVThere was nothing I hated more than goodbyes. And this one? This one stung worse than most because it wasn’t the kind you bounce back from with a casual “see you later.”Ty was leaving today. After Jace’s little reveal yesterday, I hadn’t been able to bring myself to ask Eli how he was holding up. He already said he wasn’t coming with us to say goodbye, and I wasn’t about to push him. If anyone had earned the right to choose his own way of dealing with this, it was Eli.The change in him was obvious though. In every class we shared, he was quieter, not empty, but like someone had dimmed his light a little. And I hated it.Before I knew it, school was over. Naturally, the one day I didn’t want time to fly, it practically sprinted. We all headed to the parking lot—me, Aiden, Arnold, and Jace where Ty was supposed to meet us. His parents were with him, finalizing transfer stuff and whatever else came with saying goodbye.“I’ll wait here,” Eli said softly, stopping in his track

  • Nightmare turned love    Getting through

Nova’s POVThe eyes on me and Aiden were impossible to miss. At this point, they weren’t even trying to hide it anymore, teenagers really had no chill. But for once, I didn’t care. Not even a little. With Aiden walking beside me, holding my hand and saying the most ridiculous things, I wore a proud smile like it was armor. Ain’t my body ruining my day this early. “See you after class, right?” he asked, raising a brow.“Well, sure,” I said, chuckling. “It’s not like I can escape this school.”“You did it before, with me. Who knows? Maybe you’ll be in the mood to skip again,” he said with that infuriatingly confident grin.I swatted his arm. “That was a one-time thing, Cross. I’m not missing any more classes. Now shoo. I’m going to learn.”I waved him off and walked into class, sliding into my seat next to a very amused-looking Eli.“Please,” I sighed, “don’t tell me you saw all that.”Judging by his toothy grin, oh yeah, he definitely did.“Girl,” Eli said, eyes sparkling with pure mi
