ROWAN.

The storm outside my window roared like a beast. The wind slammed against the glass, rattling the panes as if demanding to be let inside. But the storm within me was far worse, far more destructive.

I have had enough of Christabell taking over from the shadows. I haven’t seen my son in a long time and I didn’t even ask to know where she put him. A huge definition of failure, that is what I am. What is the use of being an Alpha when someone can easily control me to do anything they want? I had spent the last month in fear and guilt. Fear of her, fear of what she could do, and fear of what I have seen her do. But now, I am tired of being scared like a puppy, I am an Alpha. The whole pack looked up to me for protection yet, I couldn’t protect my son.

I couldn’t do it anymore. I can’t keep hiding from her, pretending I have everything under control.

For the past few days, I have kept thinking about Freya. The thought of her haunted me day and night. I could still see her soft and

ROWAN.Christabel raised her brows and laughed hard. She pointed to her nose and laughed again. Looking at her, she is nothing but a teenager with some magic. Since she wasn’t a werewolf, then it’s safe to say she is a witch. Her laughter deepened the hate in me and my rage surged up. I was about to explode.“What are you going to do?” She asked and sat on her chair. She crossed her legs and grabbed a cup. “You cannot kill me, don’t even attempt to. It would be too early for your death and besides, I am yet to see the real deal and the fun hasn’t even started. You can’t even face your past without crumbling. You live every day with regrets. You are weak, Rowan. Pathetic.”Her words cut deep but I won’t give her the satisfaction she wanted. “I want my son. Where is Kelvin? I have had enough of this. If you don’t–”“Fine, fine. I am so scared of you, I would give you your son back,” she said sarcastically and ended it with a laugh. She went into a back door and came out with Kelvin. He

  • No Longer The Naive Luna   CHAPTER 48: Under the moonlight

FREYA.The moment Alaric mentioned Mary, my heart stopped beating. There was nothing in the world other than misery for me. It was like I was drowning in time and each second was killing me. I knew this day would come and I had prepared so much but how do I tell him? Morgan made Alaric feel at home. He was not disappointed but he was a little surprised to find that Morgan was living in a hut. The cat didn’t like him so much, though, it came to sit on my leg and rub its head on my legs. I stared at Alaric, I did it. I found him and I brought him home. I might have done it unfairly but a win is a win and I was outnumbered. The prisoners were still weak and I didn’t want any bloodshed. CrescentMoon deserves what they got. That was for capturing my husband…Gina’s husband and treating him like he had killed one of them.Morgan was cooking something different today. I told her when we would be coming back and she believed it, she believed in me. She was roasting an antelope behind the hut

  • No Longer The Naive Luna   CHAPTER 47: Journey back home

ALARIC.I kept staring at Gina as she held my hand and ran through the shallow road in between the mountains. She had changed. A lot had changed about her and just as I had predicted, she came back for me. I spent days and nights calling out her name and trying to howl but she was too far away. But I knew, a heart is a heart and she would surely find me. And she did.I want to know what she has been through, what her distant aunty looked like, and most especially, I wanted to see what she has been up to and I wanted to ask her how she would do all those things she did back in the dungeon but this was not time for questions. She wants to look back, she wasn’t reflecting. She held my hand and ran like her life depended on it.The road was long so she changed to her wolf form and put me on her back. She really knew how to take care of me in times like his. How could I not love her? How could anyone not love her? She left the road and went into the woods. She ran fast but carefully. Fina

  • No Longer The Naive Luna   CHAPTER 46: The last day

FREYA.I woke up to the smell of lavender and orchid mixed with some tulips. It’s still very early in the morning and there is already a bouquet by my window. I yawned and stretched lazily. Today is going to be a very long day. By every means, I am going to get Alaric out of this place.Draven, by the way, seems to be serious about wooing me. The flowers were pretty, I must say. I lifted them off the window and sat them on the table. I took a quick bath and dressed up in another tiny dress. It was ready to reveal. My breasts were threatening to pop out of the dress and I had to keep pushing the gown down. After checking myself in the window, I figured I would rather wear my trousers, the one I wore when I came. It wasn’t bad and besides, only my top had gotten torn. I sat in front of the mirror. Satisfied with how I looked even though it was going to get messy very soon, I packed my hair back in a ponytail and gathered everything I brought in my little bag. I didn’t bring much. Just

FREYA.Stepping into the ring, the people shouted and clapped. Most of them were surprised to see a woman in the ring. Perhaps they have never seen a woman fight before. I fixed my gaze on Alaric. He was tired and weak. “You have to fight so we don’t get suspected,” I mind linked to Alaric. I loved how he agreed to everything I was trying to do. He was good at acting, I must say. Then one of the two men looked at me and laughed. They were given weapons and those weapons were for them and me. They were made out of silver. It reminds me of the day I got shot in the shoulder by those hunters. I sighed and smirked. Holding the sword I was given, I didn’t do a little dramatic entrain but swung it around and landed it on my shoulder which had been padded with leather. Most of my body was exposed but with just one thought, I could kill these people in front of me. The two men were both bald and big, a little bit big anyway. It looked like they had taken something before they were brought
