"Be careful."

Ezekiel's languid gaze suddenly sharpened. With lightning speed, he snatched the pot of soup from Winter's grasp. As their fingers brushed, Winter immediately shouted, "It's hot!"

Ezekiel frowned and promptly set the pot on the table. He clutched his ears, nearly leaping in surprise.

"I told you it's hot," Winter said, a chuckle escaping her lips.

Still holding his ears, Ezekiel leaned against the countertop. Though he was almost 30, he still brimmed with the boundless energy of a teenage boy.

"I'm fine. What matters is that you didn't get burned," he said nonchalantly.

The sharp lines of Ezekiel's abs flowed seamlessly into his loose pants. Though partially hidden, they hinted at what lay beneath. There was a carefree yet untamed allure about him.

Winter knew it would be impolite to keep staring. She quickly averted her gaze and went back to preparing breakfast.
