"It's fine," Winter replied, lowering her gaze. Nothing she could say would change anything.

She grabbed her phone and answered, "Hello, Sasha—"

"Oh, my God! Babe, you've really outdone yourself!" Sasha shouted, practically bouncing with excitement. "Look at you, Winz! I can't believe you're hiring male models like it's no big deal!"

Winter frowned and pressed a hand over her own mouth. "Sasha!"

"Oops, my bad! Winz, let's just pretend you're starting a modeling agency, okay?"

Ezekiel walked away at a leisurely pace.

Winter sank onto the couch, panic creeping into her voice. "Sasha, please don't misunderstand. There's nothing going on between him and me."

"So who is he?" Sasha drawled, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"It's a long story. He's a single father. Anyway, it's not really convenient to explain right now. I'll tell you everything later." Winter glanced around and lowered her voice. "Why did you call me so early? What's going on?"
