Chapter 5

Author: Ferrari
Antonio Bianco's POV

Another week bled into the next, and still, Cecilia hadn't sent a single word my way.

Anxiety began to gnaw at me. Pretending it was nothing, I quietly searched every place she might frequent, hoping to catch a glimpse of her.

But she was nowhere to be found.

Rosetta mentioned several times that she had spotted Cecilia here and there, which kept me from launching a full-scale search, though the undercurrent of worry never truly subsided.

Cecilia Marino's POV"Antonio, I'm married."The words seemed to strike Antonio with physical force, leaving his mind completely blank. He stared at the ring on my finger, paralyzed, as if the silver band had hit him like a bolt of lightning.Just then, the steady rhythm of footsteps approached from behind. A man in a white lab coat walked toward us, a jacket draped over his arm."Cecilia, it's getting chilly out here. Why aren't you inside?"He draped the jacket over my shoulders with an easy, practiced familiarity. Then, his gaze shifted to Antonio. "And who is this?"I turned my head and said, "Kyle, this is the friend I mentioned to you before."Antonio stood there, stunned."Cecilia…" his voice caught, trembling. "Who is he?"I looked him straight in the eye. My gaze was as cold and still as stagnant water."Antonio, this is my husband. We were married in Kenyara last year."He opened his mouth, but no sound came out.Kyle gave him a polite nod, his hand resting natura

Cecilia Marino's POVTwo years later. Sudara.A long day of treating patients had finally come to an end. A dull, heavy ache settled into my bones as I stood, preparing for the walk back to my tent, when I caught the sound of footsteps behind me. They were light but hurried.I didn't turn around. In a place like this, it was always better not to invite trouble. The footsteps suddenly stopped right behind me. Then came a voice—hoarse, trembling, like a distant echo from a dream."Cecilia."My hand trembled around the flashlight as I slowly turned to face the voice.A figure stood bathed in the moonlight. He was gaunt, his clothes so wrinkled it looked like he had been living in them for weeks. It was Antonio. In that instant, everything we had been through flashed across my mind like a movie reel.I froze for a heartbeat, then steadied myself. "It's been a while. What are you doing here?"Antonio's eyes instantly rimmed with red. He opened his mouth to speak, but for a moment

  • No More 52nd Wedding   Chapter 8

Antonio Bianco's POV"Oh, you should've seen Cecilia that day," Rosetta laughed into her phone. "I told her to get on her knees, and she actually did it."And that shabby pocket watch? I tossed it into the fountain on purpose just to watch her fish it out. I knew she'd lose her temper and hit me, so I told Antonio that Cecilia made me get it from the water. He didn't even ask for her side of the story before backhanding her. Her whole cheek swelled up instantly."She left right after that. I've been feeding Antonio excuses every day to keep him from going after her. By the time he finally gets around to looking for her, she'll be long gone."She kept taunting Cecilia, laughing the whole time. "Besides, those international relief missions always go to the most chaotic countries. Who knows? She might already be dead in a ditch somewhere."I stood outside the door, paralyzed. Every word felt like a knife stabbing into my heart. She had made her kneel. She had thrown her papa's keep

  • No More 52nd Wedding   Chapter 7

Antonio Bianco's POVIn the days leading up to Rosetta's delivery, I had my men scour Cecilia's travel history. But there was nothing to be found. Her passport, her bank cards—not a single trace of activity. It was as if she had vanished into thin air. What fueled my rage even more was the security footage from the Bianco villa. On the day Rosetta claimed she had been pushed down the stairs, Cecilia was nowhere near the scene. The truth was that Rosetta had thrown herself down those stairs. I slammed my fist onto the desk. "Rosetta, you heartless woman. You actually risked the life of your own child just to frame Cecilia?"My whole body trembled. "Cecilia… Where are you?"…Two weeks later, Rosetta gave birth to a boy. I named him Alessio Bianco. As I stood outside the delivery room, hearing the infant's cry, a tangle of conflicting emotions knotted in my chest.Augusto finally had an heir. That was the only consolation I could find in this mess. When Alessio turned a month

  • No More 52nd Wedding   Chapter 6

Antonio Bianco's POVOnce Rosetta had recovered, she purged the Bianco villa of every trace of Cecilia. She threw out everything connected to her, even replacing the entire set of silverware Cecilia had once used.I went public with my marriage to Rosetta, declaring to the world that she was, and had always been, the Donna of the Bianco famiglia.I expected Cecilia to come storming back, fueled by rage and demanding answers the moment the news broke. But a week passed, and there was still nothing from her.In the dead of night, when the house was silent, I would pull the photo of Cecilia and me from my wallet and stare at it again and again.Ever since the announcement, Rosetta hadn't stopped smiling. She became ever more attentive toward me, doting on my every need.I stared blankly at the dessert she had made and said, "You should leave this to the cooks.""I wanted you to taste something I made myself," she replied sweetly."Rosetta, I made myself clear the day we signed tho

Has she reached out to you?""No.""Where is she?""I wouldn't know.""She—""Antonio," Chiara cut me off, her voice like shards of ice. "Do you really want to know where she is?"I froze."Aren't you two suppo
