Chapter 2

작가: Betty
As Bleiz carried Mona out of the room, I was still collapsed on the floor.

The blood from the back of my head streaming down my neck.

I stared after him. He was so hurried, so frantic, without even turning his head to me once.

I was in excruciating pain and suddenly remembered that, in the past, Bleiz had been just as anxious about me.

At that time, I was still a slave in a healer’s house, wearing a simple ponytail, without makeup, pure and refined.

Bleiz stopped when he first saw me, staring intently, his pupils turning red.

As he approached, his fangs brushed lightly against my neck, but he paused, his breath lingering there — as if just the scent of me was enough to make him lose control.

Finally, he reached out his hand to me and said, “Come with me; you’ll never have to be a slave again.”

Although I was a slave, I was not one to be manipulated. I paused, suppressed the restlessness in my heart, and directly pushed his hand away: “No thank you, sir, being a slave is my destiny.”

He gazed at me silently for a long time, then embraced me again. His arms were strong and warm. “My name is Bleiz. I’ll come tomorrow.”

Bleiz? I had heard of him, the heir to the Alpha, who, according to the pack’s ancestral teachings, could not choose me.

But the next day, he indeed came, surrounded by a pack of wolves, standing in his opulent attire next to the dilapidated thatched hut, completely out of place.

My master, healer Bob, was frightened and wanted to give me directly to Bleiz, but Bleiz refused. He said he would pursue me sincerely until I was willing to be with him.

For three months, to pursue me, this sole heir did many outrageous things —

I refused Bleiz’s roses, so he had the wolf pack bring me precious medicinal herbs every day.

I avoided Bleiz, so he built a magnificent house for me next to the healer’s thatched hut.

I said we were not of the same world, so Bleiz squatted beside the bonfire where I was brewing elixirs and personally helped me add firewood.

Bleiz came to find me for three whole months. I refused once, and he came a second time, a third time, a fourth time...

It’s not that my heart wasn’t moved, but I was too aware of the gap between us, so I couldn’t, and didn’t dare to be moved.

Later, I finally agreed to Bleiz, because while gathering herbs in the mountains, I accidentally lost my footing, and in order to catch me, his back was scratched by Devil Vine, leaving a long scar.

At that time, Bleiz was sweating profusely from the pain, but he still smiled and said to me, “Nancy, you owe me a life now... and I’ll be waiting for you to repay it with the rest of yours.”

I burst into tears, hot tears falling onto Bleiz’s palm.

And now —

I looked down at the blood on the floor and suddenly laughed.

As I laughed, tears streamed down my face.

I went to the healer’s grove alone.

After the wound was treated, I was still so dizzy that I could barely stand. As soon as I stepped out of the grove, someone suddenly grabbed my wrist violently!

“Nancy!” Bleiz’s voice was laced with anger. “Mona almost had a miscarriage, and you still won’t stop, chasing her all the way to the healer’s grove to cause trouble?”

I turned around and saw his tightly furrowed brow and the coldness in his eyes.

Bleiz was dressed in a suit and tie, as always, aloof and dignified, but he still carried the scent of Mona’s perfume.

“I came...” My voice was so soft that it was almost inaudible. “I didn’t come to find her.”

I slowly raised my hand and pointed to my bandaged forehead: “I was injured too.”

Bleiz’s expression faltered, and he then noticed my pale face and the gauze on my forehead.

“You said that after she gave birth, you would take me away.” I looked at him, my eyes red-rimmed. “But now, can you still see me?”

Bleiz frowned even more, reaching out to touch my wound. “What happened?”

“You pushed me,” I said calmly. “I hit it on the corner of the table.”

Bleiz’s pupils constricted as if he suddenly remembered the scene.

His anger dissipated for the most part, and he pulled me into his arms. “Nancy, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to. I was just afraid something would happen to Mona. She’s pregnant with a child. If something goes wrong, our departure will be delayed again...”

I let him hold me, but my eyes were empty.

I’ve heard these words too many times.

“I know.” I pushed Bleiz away. “Go take care of Mona.”

I turned to leave, but he grabbed my wrist again.

“Nancy, no matter what, you have to believe that you are my only love. Everything I’ve done is to ensure that we can leave as soon as possible.”

Bleiz gently touched my gauze. “I’ve asked the servants to take care of you; don’t get the wound wet.”

After saying that, he let go of my hand and turned to walk towards Mona’s ward.

I stood there, watching him gradually move away.

Suddenly, I laughed — laughed until tears fell.

“I don’t believe it anymore...” I whispered. “Bleiz, I don’t believe it at all anymore.”

I thought that even if the inspection took a long time, Bleiz and his team would leave that day.But when I went back to the school, I saw Bleiz’s familiar back at a glance.I was too familiar with that back then.We had explored many forests together, he had prepared all kinds of surprises for me, and we had even made love passionately. But later, the same person did everyth

After dinner, everyone cleaned up and dispersed. Just as I was about to return to my room, the principal called me.“Nancy, I want to talk to you.”A moment later, I was holding the principal’s arm as we sat together on a bench in the corner of the playground.“Nancy, are you really not going that day?”The principal’s words were filled with regret. She had watched me grow up, and in her memory, I used to love joining in the fun. Now, I am almost unrecognizable. Moreover, I had already left, and now I’ve returned for the sake of this school and donated all my money to it. It would be much harder to leave again if I wanted to.So, when she learned that someone was coming to evaluate the school, the principal was very excited. She even immediately thought of me when choosing teachers to accompany the visitors around the school. The principal thought that if I went and was praised by the visitors, I might be transferred to another, better school and have the opportunity to see more of the

After all, I still have my own things to do.I pushed open the wooden window, watered the few pots of flowers outside, and then put down the watering can and lay back on the deck chair, looking at the school surrounded by mountains. It was currently the holidays, and only a few of us teachers were guarding the small school. The sun made me sleepy, and I couldn’t help but think of the past. After leaving the pack, I followed the guard team through the jungle. • No More Waiting   Chapter 7

Bleiz’s POVI held the farewell letter Nancy left behind and read it again and again.I recognize every word, but I can’t understand the meaning. The paper trembles between my fingers, making a soft rustling sound.A sudden, uncontrollable, metallic sweetness surged in my throat, and the world before my eyes abruptly began to twist and spin, colors peeling away, and sounds fading into the distance. The solid floor beneath me felt as if it instantly collapsed and melted, transforming into bottomless, icy, and bone-chilling quicksand.I am being silently and irresistibly swallowed and sunk by this quicksand, falling straight down into an abyss with no light, no echo, and only boundless cold.My world completely plunged into darkness.“Bleiz!”“Quick, call a healer!”...Overnight, my family produced another new joke.Yesterday, I left my mate behind at the mate bond ceremony, and today I’m desperately trying to get rid of my mate.My room is already a complete mess. Bleiz’s POVThe room was still exactly as I had left it; the books Nancy often read were still lying open on the bed, but Nancy was gone!I yelled her name into the empty room.“Nancy?”“Nancy!”My trembling voice echoed in the empty room, but no longer received a familiar response.Even if I searched the study, the lounge, the exercise room, and even the narrow storage room... To prevent Nancy from escaping temporarily, I not only locked her room door, but also had guards specifically watching her.Because I subconsciously believed that Nancy was just a slave with no survival skills, unable to go anywhere else under heavy guard. But she left. I went crazy — not so much because of her departure, but more because of my own stupidity. • No More Waiting   Chapter 5
