ELIZABETH’S POV

“That would be five thousand dollars a night, ma’am,” the receptionist said politely, her voice calm and professional.

My brows immediately furrowed at the price she just mentioned. “Five thousand?” I repeated, my tone edged with disbelief. “Are you sure this place is actually a seven-star hotel? Because the price you’re calling seems a little too cheap for that kind of standard.”

The young woman behind the counter looked startled for a second, probably unsure whether to laugh or apologize. “Cheap? Ma’am, this is our most expensive room you just booked,” she said, straightening her uniform as if to reassure me that I had indeed chosen luxury.

I sighed and waved a dismissive hand. “Whatever. I just hope I don’t get low service because of these low prices,” I said, my tone clipped. “I want the best service. Breakfast by eight a.m. on the dot, no need for lunch, I always eat out. And dinner by nine p.m. sharp. Not a minute later than those times, do you understand?

  • No Second Chances, Ex-husband   CHAPTER 0253

LAUREN'S POV Once I was done having my bath, I stepped out of the bathroom feeling a bit more awake and refreshed. I dried my hair slowly with the towel wrapped around my shoulders, letting the remaining heat from the bathroom fade off my skin. When I entered the room, Roman was already fully dressed and adjusting his shirt like he was preparing to head out any second. I honestly thought he was going to leave for the company a little later than me, since he usually did, but here he was ready before I even finished moisturizing my face. “You want to go together?” I asked while picking up my engagement ring from the dresser. I slid it onto my finger, twisting it a little until it sat exactly how I liked it. “Oh, so you’re no longer worried about what the employees would think when they see us together?” Roman asked, raising a brow at me as he stood up straight. “You're basically my husband now, so why would I be worried about that? Anyone who can’t accept it or thinks it’s odd can g

  • No Second Chances, Ex-husband   CHAPTER 0252

LAUREN'S POV “I'm really confused about what you’re saying right now. When we met at the club, you already knew me?” I asked, my voice betraying the swirl of confusion I felt inside. My mind was spinning, trying to piece together this new revelation. It felt like I had just walked into a puzzle with half the pieces missing. “Well, I wouldn’t say I knew you, exactly. I had just seen you before, helped you out,” Roman replied calmly, his tone measured, yet filled with that quiet confidence I had always admired. “Helped me out? Where? How?” I asked again, feeling my confusion deepen. My brows furrowed tightly as I leaned closer, trying to extract clarity from his vague words. “Well, come to think of it, I don’t blame you if you can’t remember my face. I mean, you did faint that day, so…” Roman’s words trailed off slightly, and he tilted his head, watching me carefully, as if he could see the pieces slowly clicking into place in my mind. Fainted? My thoughts stopped dead in their tra

  • No Second Chances, Ex-husband   CHAPTER 0251

ROMAN'S POV “Like I said,” Lauren started, her voice calm but her expression focused on me like she wasn’t ready to let the topic slide, “let’s start with your ex. I saw the way you reacted when I first brought up the topic, and you told me you were faithful to her once, a few days ago. So… what exactly happened?” She asked it gently, but there was firmness in her tone. She wanted answers, and somehow I knew she deserved them. “I’ll tell you on one condition though,” I said, pointing slightly toward her as I shifted in my seat, “once we’re done here, you’re gonna go get ready for your meetings. Work always comes first.” She let out a light sigh, almost like my reminder was the last thing she wanted to hear. “Fine… agreed,” she said, but it sounded like she was agreeing under protest. Like she genuinely didn’t feel like going anywhere. “Alright,” I said, taking in a slow breath. “There’s nothing much to tell about that part of my life anyway. My ex-wife didn’t want something that

  • No Second Chances, Ex-husband   CHAPTER 0250

ROMAN'S POV I set my phone down on the table, letting out a small breath as I leaned back against the chair, waiting for the maids to bring my breakfast for the morning. It was quiet in the dining room, the kind of quiet that fills the house early when everyone is already busy with preparations but hasn’t started moving around too loudly yet. The sun was barely up, soft light slipping through the curtains and settling on the floor. It had been three days since Elizabeth tried that little stunt on Lauren, and since then, not one single person had heard from her. Just like expected. She must have probably fled the country, running to hide from the police — causing chaos and running from the consequences like a coward. I thought she was obsessed with me, I thought she would do anything to fill her obsession. Because she couldn’t have me she decided to go after Lauren. “Hi.” Lauren’s voice floated softly from behind me, delicate but clear enough to break my thoughts. I heard the littl

  • No Second Chances, Ex-husband   CHAPTER 0249

LAUREN'S POVThe officers had taken the four men away, dragging them out through the back hallway like they were nothing but criminals being thrown out of society. The chief had already given out several orders, pointing at different corners of the place while a few other officers walked in and out of the rooms, inspecting everything. From the serious look on their faces, you could tell this wasn’t going to be treated as some small crime. They were shutting down this entire hotel tonight, no hesitation, no second thought.Apparently, the hotel hadn’t only been a hideout for people like the four men, they’d been secretly avoiding taxes and making illegal deals behind closed doors. The moment the officers realized how deep the corruption ran, it was like something inside them switched. They were ready to tear the building apart brick by brick if they had to.Meanwhile, I tapped my foot continuously against the dull wooden floor, unable to stop myself. The sound echoed slightly in the ro

  • No Second Chances, Ex-husband   CHAPTER 0248

LAUREN'S POVRoman let out a small smile and folded his hands across his chest, the kind of calm, confident expression he always had whenever he already knew how things were going to end. He didn’t even flinch or step back. He just stood there, relaxed, like the situation in front of him wasn’t dangerous at all.“You see something about me,” he said, his tone calm but carrying that quiet warning underneath. “I am very protective of my woman. So for the fact that you even tried this little fiasco, you should know you’re already in trouble. Last chance.”The room went silent for a moment after he said that. The four men eyed him like he had just spoken a foreign language. Then, one of them smirked and stepped forward, cracking his knuckles loudly like he was warming up for a fight.“I’ll take my chances,” he said confidently, rolling his shoulders. “I wanna see what you can do, pretty boy.”Their leader, the same one who had been speaking boldly before, took a step closer too. He looked
