Celeste’s POV

Rachel stood at the head of the conference table, wringing her hands as she waited for everyone to settle down. Her anxious movement didn't help my nerves as I eyed the busts lined up before her.

Hands clasped in my lap, I resisted the urge to rip off the cloth that hid the displays.

I’d spent hours painstakingly designing each piece for this new line. They had to show my unique style while still having mass appeal.

Now it was time to see if that work had paid off.

“Are we all here? Good.” I turned to Rachel, smiling though impatient. “Please don’t keep us in suspense any longer.”

The bench jeweler lifted the cloth, and my heart swelled with pride and gratitude.

After falling pregnant with Bonnie, I’d given up on my dreams of being a jewelry designer. But now the twelve pieces I’d created for my first mass-produced line glimmered before us.

It felt like I was living a dream.

“Oh. My. Gosh.” Jenny breathed in awe. “It’s going to be such a hit!”

Damien’s POVMy foot tapped restlessly as I waited for Mr. Brown in the clubhouse. More than an hour had passed since we were scheduled to meet, and I was ready to hunt down a waiter. It wasn’t even noon, but I needed a goddamn brandy. How low had I fallen that an old geezer like Henry Brown had the gall to keep me waiting?“Ah, Mr. Kent, you’ll forgive the delay—our session went on longer than I expected.” A condescending voice called out from the crowd of men in collared polo shirts. I watched Mr. Brown break from the group, casually removing a golf glove as he approached my table.“Though I suppose your calendar’s been rather open lately, hasn’t it?” he asked, chuckling at his own jibe.My fists trembled on my lap as I contained my fury.I was Damien fucking Kent—he had no right to mock me. The moment I was back in power at my company, I’d get him thrown off the board of directors.“I assure you my time wasn’t spent idly. See for yourself.” I slid a tablet across the table as he s

Damien’s POVMy instinct was to shout, but I forced my mouth shut.I watched expressionlessly as Bonnie’s fist tightened on the toothpaste tube and she squeezed it all over the bathroom counter. I stepped back as she screamed at the top of her lungs. “I said I don’t wanna brush my teeth! You do it!” I ignored her tears and hysterics, as hard as it was. The heavy stack of parenting books I’d been reading in my downtime made it embarrassingly clear that I was doing everything wrong. My princess was spoiled, and it was my fault.“I understand that you’re frustrated, Bonnie, but we can’t talk about it if you’re screaming.” I said calmly. “Why don’t you try taking a few deep breaths with Daddy so we can calm down?”I took a few slow, deep breaths, exaggerating the movements. A smile touched my lips when Bonnie mimicked me. Once she’d stopped hiccupping and seemed calm, I crouched down to her level and wiped her tears away.“Do you feel better now, Bon-Bon?” I asked gently. She nodded wit

Ryan’s POVLisa fussed about being behind schedule the second I arrived at the photography studio and shoved me towards a changing room. I changed into a perfectly tailored black velvet tuxedo with satin lapels. Stylists buzzed about me in a frenzy, slicking my hair back and brushing powder on my face. The urgency rivaled that of stylists in the middle of fashion week.“You look absolutely dashing!” Lisa said, fawning over me as I was ushered onto a set.The minimalistic walls contrasted heavily with velvet drapes and a gold-leafed chair that looked more like a throne.“All that’s missing is the crown,” I said wryly as the photo stylist guided me into the seat.My jaw dropped when an assistant brought over a box and the stylist lifted a golden crown set with rubies to place on my head. It was heavy, pure gold—fit for a king.I slipped on the matching gold wedding band, twisting it uncomfortably on my ring finger. If things didn’t pan out, this could all be real.Lisa clapped. “Splendi

Ryan’s POVVivian gracefully lifted a hand from the nook she chose in the far corner of the hotel lobby. I joined her, settling into the luxurious upholstery of the armchair.“I was surprised you wanted to meet here,” she said, curiosity sparking in her gaze. “You’ve never had a problem dropping by my office on a whim.”I discreetly surveyed the array of guests and businessmen seated amongst the strategically placed furniture. Warm lighting, bright ferns and lush carpeting separated us from the other occupants.Even if my father’s spies had eyes on us, they wouldn’t be able to hear.“I’m sorry for dragging you away from the office,” I said, returning my attention to her. “I have to be in the area for an engagement photoshoot.”Her lips twitched in surprise, but she effortlessly transitioned into a teasing grin.“Well, the heirs of a jewelry empire and a mining conglomerate are soon to be wed—that’ll make front page news.” Where Celeste would undoubtedly see it. I rested my elbows on

Celeste’s POVI worked as quickly as I could, trying to finish the next order so I could sneak out before everyone got back from lunch. Officer Raymond wanted to meet, and I could really use the distraction.I was tidying up the workbench when Ryan came back early.“I thought you might be hungry.” He said, holding out a takeout bag.“No, thanks,” I said, slipping my laptop into my bag. “I’m meeting someone for a bite.”I zipped the bag and looked up to see a storm settle on his face.“Why are you staring at me like that? Fine, I’ll eat the shawarma for dinner,” I said, grabbing the takeout bag from his hand. “Happy now?”Ryan’s voice sounded strained. “Who are you having lunch with?”I paused, frowning up at him. “It isn’t really any of your business, now is it? I’ve finished the tie clip Celine ordered for her husband. Please polish and package it.” “Of course, boss.” He said, stuffing his hands into his pockets angrily. “But I’m going to have to leave straight after. I’m meeting s
