Ryan’s POV

The security guard didn’t even try to stop me this time.

Guess my father had already stopped pretending I wasn’t his son.

The elevator ride up to the top floor of Crown Luxe was silent except for the dull hum of tension vibrating in my chest.

The mirrored walls reflected a face that didn’t quite look like mine. It was eerily calm. The kind of calm that came only when you had nothing left to lose.

When the doors slid open, Mr. Davis, my father’s assistant, flinched like he’d seen a ghost.

“Mr. Ryan,” he stammered. “He’s expecting you.”

“Of course he is.” I brushed past him and entered the office.

Maximilian Edwards sat behind his massive oak desk, back straight, jaw tight, the city skyline burning gold behind him.

He didn’t look up right away, just kept flipping through a file as though I were another tedious meeting on his schedule.

“Son,” he said finally, voice sharp as glass. “You’ve caused quite the spectacle.”

I leaned against the door, hands in my pockets. “Good morning

Vanessa’s POVThe nerve of them all.The nerve of her.I slammed my coffee cup on Damien’s kitchen table, spilling half of it onto the newspaper. The headline glared up at me.Heiress Breaks Off Engagement — Ryan Edwards Confesses Love for Another Woman.I didn’t even need to read the article. I knew who that “other woman” was.“Celeste Sinclair,” I hissed under my breath, like the name itself tasted bitter. “Of course.”Damien was sitting opposite me, slouched, his hair sticking up at odd angles. He hadn’t shaved, and there was a grayish look to his face that made me want to shake him.“You look like hell,” I said flatly. “Still thinking about your ex-wife?”He didn’t respond, just rubbed his temples.“Oh, don’t tell me you’re feeling bad for her.” I laughed, without any humor. “She’s probably sitting in her perfect little studio, pretending to be shocked. Like she didn’t enjoy being the secret lover of the moment.”“Vanessa.” Damien’s tone was low, warning.“What?” I lifted a brow. “

Celeste’s POVMonday morning arrived sooner than I wanted it to.My head ached from lack of sleep, my chest heavy with the weight of everything left unsaid between me and Ryan. The office felt different the moment I stepped in.Everyone was too quiet, kind of observant.Every head that lifted in my direction quickly ducked down again, but not before I caught the flicker of something in their eyes that I couldn’t quite catch. Was it sympathy? Curiosity? Or just plain disbelief?Rachel gave me a weak smile. Grace stared at me wordlessly before hurrying off with a stack of folders. Gideon, usually loud enough to wake the dead, didn’t even greet me.And Ryan…He wasn’t there. His desk, empty. His chair, turned neatly toward the window.A hollow ache spread through my chest. The rational part of me told myself it was for the best.Space. I needed space. But the part of me that still remembered his voice, the way it trembled when he said my name during that confession, wanted to tear through

Celeste’s POVI hadn’t slept. The night had felt endless.Just one long, cruel loop of replaying Ryan’s voice in my head, every word of that confession cutting me open, soothing me, but also confusing me.My sheets still smelled faintly of lavender, but it was no comfort. The city was already awake, gossiping, dissecting, and feasting on the scandal that had cracked open the jewelry world.By the time sunlight bled through the blinds, my head was pounding. My phone wouldn’t stop buzzing with calls, messages, and news alerts, but I couldn’t bring myself to look.I got dressed quietly, in a beige sweater and jeans, hair tied up messily, face bare.My reflection looked like someone who’d aged overnight. Maybe I had.I drove to my mother’s house. I didn’t want to be alone, not with my thoughts circling like vultures, whispering all the things I should and shouldn’t do.Especially not with that one reckless thought pulsing at the back of my mind: Call him. Just call him.The air outside was

Celeste’s POVI couldn’t move. The ballroom felt like a storm had passed through and left nothing standing.People were whispering and laughing, some were recording too.Every sound was sharper than glass against my skin.Champagne flutes lay shattered on the marble floor, white petals trampled under restless feet.Somewhere in the corner, Michelle’s parents were arguing with reporters.Katie had already led Michelle away, hand in hand with their heads held high. And Ryan… he was gone.My heart was still beating in uneven stutters, as if trying to catch up with what had just happened. The world tilted, and I needed to breathe, to think, but the air here was too thick with perfume and scandal.I turned toward the exit just as a sharp voice sliced through the noise.“Ryan!”Maximilian Edwards. He was unmistakable even from a distance, rigid posture and eyes like cut obsidian. His fury burned through as he strode towards the doors leading out into the hallway.Curiosity pulled me after hi

Vivian’s POVMolly’s whining hit a pitch that could crack glass.“Mommy, why can’t we go home now?” she said, tugging on my sleeve with sticky fingers. “I don’t wanna go! I wanna stay here with Uncle Ry-Ry and Aunt Celeste!”Her voice echoed through the terminal, drawing a few annoyed glances from other travelers. She never used to be this difficult. I don’t know what’s gotten into her.I tightened my grip on the boarding passes and tried to keep my voice level.“Molly, not now,” I murmured. “We’ve talked about this.”“No, we didn’t!” she stomped her foot. “You and Daddy just said we were going on vacation, but we’re not coming back!”Her little face was flushed, her lower lip trembling. My patience snapped.“Molly, enough!” The word came out sharply. Heads turned. My chest burned with instant regret. Her small mouth quivered before she crossed her arms and turned away from me, chin jutting in silent rebellion.“Molly,” I said softly, crouching to her level. “Sweetheart, I didn’t mean t
