I didn't have any other thoughts back then, though. Besides, Elise and I didn't cross paths again after that.

I married her only because my family had been on the verge of bankruptcy, and she urgently needed a husband. My dad agreed to the marriage without my consent, took Elise's money, and made a run for it!

I couldn't pay her back, and she'd promised to give me five million a month in allowance. There was no way I would lose out in this marriage, so I'd said yes.
