Instead of pushing him back and getting away from him as her brain told her to, she moved even closer to him. She pressed her lips against his as softly, and sweetly as she saw fit. At the back of her mind, the warning bell kept ringing but she turned deaf ears to it.

Damn it, Ruby! Her mind chastised. This was her boss, the man who had wanted nothing with her when she first arrived, but here she was kissing him as if her life depended on it.

Maybe it does, who knows? This was the first time in a very long while that she had kissed a man, or in this case and any, allowed a man to kiss her.
