"Stay at my house as long as it's not safe for you outside, Lucia," said Ruth who had just taken out a suitcase of clothes from the trunk of her car. The girl thought that the news hunters would be looking for Lucia's whereabouts for some time to come.

"Thank you, Ruth," replied Lucia with a wounded smile.

Lucia could see the disappointment on Ruth's face. Nevertheless, Ruth put her anger aside and chose to bring Lucia to her house.

As the two girls entered the Gracewell residence, Rosaline, Ruth's mother, welcomed Lucia warmly.

"Welcome to our home, Lucia. Behave as if you were in your own home," said Rosaline as she took the luggage from Lucia's hand.

"Ah, thank you, Auntie." Lucia smiled again, full of hurt. Even when she was down, it was someone who was not related to her at all who was willing to help her.

"Did you clean the guest room?" Ruth asked Rosaline as she walked towards a room at the end of the first floor.

"Of course. It's already occupied." Rosaline replied.
