Chapter 9 Clueless About Her Preferences

Henry ordered with an expressionless face, "I want him gone."

Wade nodded. "Understood. I'll handle it."

He then asked, "Mr. Chase, do you need me to drive you home now?"

"It's fine. You're excused."

"Understood, Mr. Chase." Wade smiled briefly at Henry. Then, he turned around to leave.

A glimmer of hope surfaced in Juliet's heart. She was secretly delighted.

She assumed that Henry had excused Wade to spend some alone time with her.

She knew he still had feelings for her.

When she saw Henry walk across the car toward the driver's seat, she reached out to open the passenger side door.

But, a single sentence from Henry struck her like lightning.

"What do you think you're doing?"

Juliet was stunned. She quickly forced a smile to suppress her awkwardness. "A-Aren't you going to take me home?"

"The organizers of the charity gala have arranged transportation for their guests, haven't they?"

The meaning behind Henry's words was clear. He didn't intend to drop Juliet off at her
