Chapter Ten

After class ended, Grace immediately packed up her books before leaving class. She also made sure that the cellphone was kept in the bag, but there were no messages from Mr.Charmond among the piles of incoming messages. Her expression turned disappointed, so that Callin was interested to know the state of her close friend next door.

"You only need one more week to see Mr. Charmond every day, Grace." Callin said.

"Do I look like a girl who misses her boyfriend? I don't think so." Grace replied with a cynical face. "I made an important promise with the old man, there is a deal that I must change for our marriage."

They left the class towards the campus gate, all courses had ended and gave them the freedom to breathe fresh air outside the campus.

Callin laughed at this answer, she knew enough about Grace's struggling life. Until the decision to accept the marriage that Mrs. Launtin wanted, Callin thought it was a form of concern for Grace with childhood wounds and also for her mother.
