Chapter One

Grace came out of the room, approached her mother as well as a male guest who was at home earlier.

He is Mr. Charmond, he often comes to the house. Grace also knows about her mother's relationship with Mr. Charmond has been very close since they were in junior high school.But when she looked around the room, there was no longer the figure of the middle-aged man who was engaged in a serious conversation earlier.Although Grace is not close to Mr. Charmond, but he knew enough about her mother's story about him.

"Hi Grace."Mrs.Launtin greets her daughter." How is your course work? It's finished?"

"Mr. Charmond offered to be your husband, Grace. And Mom said yes."

Grace's eyes widened, she turned to her mother with an expression of surprise and disbelief. How is it possible, a middle-aged man who is no longer young, actually sees Grace as someone to be his wife.

"What did you give Mr Charmond? He not realize his age with my age is very much? We don't even deserve to be a couple. His facial skin is not fresh anymore. Ah! I will enjoy my youth without the old man watching over me. I'm not interested in Mr. Charmonds!"

Mrs.Launtin smiled at Grace's answer, she could guess that Grace would refuse to marry a close friend of her.

"He's a rich man, i know he's not young at all. But Mr. Charmond can attract a lot of women, Grace. He still deserves to be remarried."

"If he can attract women, just do it to the woman he likes. It's not been four months since he's been divorced. He's about to remarry. Where is he love for his ex-wife?!"

"He's liked you for a long time, Grace." Replied Mrs.Launtin.

Grace laughed at her mother's answer, those words sounded funny and also didn't make sense.

"Mr. Charmond isn't a bad guy either, i been friends with him for a very long time. He needs to save some of his fortune too, Grace."Mrs. Launtin said.

Grace couldn't believe it when she heard the reason for the marriage Mr. Charmond offers it to her. Is it the desire to marry him because he really liked her for a long time or the wealth that has been maintained since his divorce from his ex-wife.

"Just marry you, if you want to save some of him wealth. Not me!"

Grace was very upset, leaving Mrs. Launtin alone. Not caring about the request that she sit back, finish the conversation that has not received an answer.

"It's not bad if you marry him, Grace."

"Get married?! You guys are the ones who get married! Don't make me your interest. You should have gone against the old man's wishes! Because i am your daughter." Grace annoyance expressed as she closed the door.

Mrs.Launtin didn't speak, she didn't want to spoil Grace's messy mood because of her earlier request. Even though she was rejected by Grace, she had made a promise to herself.

Grace must be the wife of Mr. Charmond, to get revenge on her ex-husband who left her when she was two months pregnant with Grace.

She has no strong control because at that time only being a second wife, the ex-husband returned to his first wife to save a huge fortune without caring about her.

Mrs. Launtin will not forget that.Mr. Charmond who came and provided assistance until Grace appeared in the world.

Without caring about some people laughing at her appearance, Grace headed straight to Mr.Charmond's study to meet the old man.

She had to say, if she really disliked and opposed last night's offer, which was made to Mrs.Launtin.

When Grace was about to enter Mr.Charmond office, she found Mr.Charmond personal secretary being detained.

The door of the room was forced open, six eyes looked towards the main door. there was Grace with a look that was far from elegant, glaring at Mr. Charmond. As if wanting to kill him on the spot.

"Hi, Grace. What's up?" Asked Mr. Charmond quietly.He immediately got up from the chair, approached Grace and paused work for a few minutes.

"What is it?! You can still ask that stupid question?!" Grace replied angrily.

"Sorry, Mr.Charmond. I've been trying to restrain this child, but I was too late to lock the meeting room door." The young woman who was next to Grace, looked very scared.

Mr.Charmond asked his personal secretary to return to work, leaving only Grace and him alone.

After the meeting room door closed from the outside, Mr.Charmond took Grace to the waiting room.So that no one can hear their conversation.

"I'm in a meeting, Grace. The current project meeting is very important. I can't stay here long with you."

"I don't care about your meeting! Remember, Mr.Charmond. Don't dare to make that crazy offer again to Mrs. Launtin. I don't want my mother to be on your side, who wants me to be your wife. You should know, Mr. Charmond! Put your self-awareness very high, so you are not confident to marry me with the wealth you have. If you really want to get married on a mission to save your endangered fortune, just find another woman, who you can ask for a contract marriage with that crazy time limit! Mr.Charmond stood still, finding Grace who really didn't accept his offer last night.

"I'm going to have a real talk with you, but not now, Grace. I have an important meeting.Wait here, I'll be back in a moment."He asked.

Mr. Charmond pulled up a chair, asking Grace to sit down quietly. There is one mineral water on the table for Grace.

"You've had lunch?"He asked.

"Don't care about me, i don't need that!" The answer is do not like.

"Fine, I'll see you in thirty minutes."Mr.Charmond immediately left Grace in the room, his eyes saw Grace sitting in the chair he gave earlier.He smiled sweetly, then returned to the meeting room.
