Jack's POV

I ignored Cindy throughout the rest of the morning. I decided to test her feelings for me once more before taking my next line of action.

When it was time to have my lunch, I invited her to come along with me, as her boss though. I took her to a fancy restaurant but didn't try to make eye contact with her or act in a romantic or overly concerned manner. I acted like she was just an employee to see her reaction but she still didn't give anything away.

I informed her that her brother would be flown to New York very early the next day. So, she was allowed to spend some time with him before coming to work. She thanked me and that was it. We both ate in silence after which I drove her back to the office and avoided her for the rest of the day.

When I got home, I called an acquaintance of mine who was considered a love doctor and asked to meet up. She invited me to her office right away and I drove over without bothering to shower or change my clothes.
