Chapter 054

Jeff descended down the stairs and walked into the living room. He was about to dial Rhoda's number when she heard her drive into the compound. He had called her back after she hung up earlier to make sure she was unharmed and to ask where she was since she said she was being followed.

He had been very worried hearing Rhoda's voice for it was filled with terror. But the number she had called him with kept saying busy. That why he had to call the one he had and he was surprised to hear her saying she was fine in a calm voice which was different from the terrified one he heard earlier. That was confusing.

Sharon stormed in angrily and slammed the door behind her, making him jolt a little. "Why do you ask me to come home? What's wrong?"

He sighed in relief, knowing she was safe. Then, whose voice was that? “I'm just worried about you. You said you haven't called me today? Like, at all?”

Sharon got closer and looked up at him. She was mad he called her home as if it was urgent, making he
