Jerick
One week ago, our sister was the life of every party. Whenever she was around, the room just lit up in an instant. Although she was stubborn and a certified rebel, we love her no less. She was the living reminder of our mother’s dying love for her children as she died giving birth to Caroline. We will do everything for our hard-headed munchkin, even if we disagreed on a lot of things at times.
But now, she was completely changed. The once bubbly and energetic eighteen-year-old became dejected, depressed, and hopeless.
Seeing her like this was beyond heartbreaking. She refused to eat and almost secluded herself inside her room. Jerald and I tried our best to cheer her up on multiple occasions, but she was not interested.
She was at her window all the time, staring at something beyond our eyes can see.
My blood boiled thinking about what had happened to her. Carrie just turned eighteen, while Alpha Noah was a few years ahead of her. This could have easily been avoided if not for that alpha prick. Given that my sister was a lovesick teenager towards him, he could have rejected her the moment she confessed her feelings for him. He was fully aware that Carrie was not his mate, so he knew that having a relationship with her would be futile. He should have just avoided her or told her he wasn’t interested because she was not his mate. But instead, he took advantage of my sister’s foolishness, disregarding that she was his own Beta’s daughter. And just like how we predicted, our sister was left behind while he was over the moon with his newly-found mate by his side.
My sister took all the blows while the alpha she chose to defend turned her back on her. How unfair had life become for her?
If only she listened to us, none of this would have happened. But I would never blame her for what she did. Instead, I admired her for standing up for what she wanted in life. I just wished that she had chosen a better man.
But everything was all set and done. It was already too late. My sister was already a broken woman. And alas, we could only do but clench our fists and wished that none of this ever happened.
It was a regular day of solitude for Carrie, and another torture for our father, Jerald, and me. Suddenly, we saw our dad descend the stairs of our house. Behind him was Carrie, who was still lifeless and silent.
Jerald and I looked at each other, wondering to ourselves what our father did to convince her to go out of her room. Dad looked in our direction as if he had read what our minds had been thinking at that moment.
“I cooked today’s dinner. Come, and let’s eat together.”
That words were like music to our ears. It has been a while since we ate together. So I would definitely not miss this for the world.
A few steps later, we all sat down at the table. Our dad was a great cook so we knew that whatever he prepare would taste good. First, we feasted our eyes on the strip steak with lemon mashed potatoes on the table. The aroma that permeated the air was enough for our tummies to growl.
After saying our graces, we started munching on the food. But after a few bites, my father opened his mouth for a discussion.
“In today’s meeting earlier, Alpha Noah already introduced his mate, Lia Addams to the Winterclaw Council. Tomorrow night, he will announce her as the official Luna of this pack. I want you to go with us to witness the Luna ascension ceremony.”
Carrie dropped the cutlery and looked at our father. The spoon and fork that she was holding earlier made a loud clatter. “What did you say? You want me to attend that bitch’s ascension ceremony?”
“Watch your language, young woman! Show some manners!” Dad was furious. His eye color started to change, indicating that his wolf was taking over.
“What do you want me to do, dad? Cheer for that girl who stole my boyfriend?”
“Yes, that’s what I want. She will be your Luna so you will respect her whether you like it or not!”
I massaged the temples of my head. The hearty dinner I was expecting turned into another disagreement.
“I don’t understand why you are wasting your tears over Alpha Noah when there was another man who would do everything to get your attention.”
Our eyes turned in Jerald’s direction. Unlike the three of us who were tensed, he looked relatively calm and composed.
“Explain yourself,” dad instructed. Jerald put down his cutleries and wiped his mouth. He took the glass of water and drank before speaking.
“I felt Carrie’s wolf the night of the gala, and I couldn’t be mistaken.” He looked at Carrie who was obviously jittery from what she heard. “I knew you had found your mate that night.”
“I…I don’t know what you’re saying,” Carrie stated, removing her gaze from my twin brother. But Jerald’s revelation was far from being over.
“Your mate followed your scent until he reached the parking lot. However, he paused when he saw we were having a family moment so he just observed from a distance. When I took you and Jerick home, I went back to the party to meet this mysterious man.”
“And what did you find out about him?” I asked, completely compelled by his story.
“Well…” he paused for a moment before spilling the tea, “His name was Jesse Morris, the current alpha of Silverfang Pack. In fact…”
“In fact what?” This time, it was our father who spoke.
“He invited our whole family to visit Silverfang tomorrow night. He is interested to know more about his mate, obviously.”
A cloud of silence floated over us afterward. Carrie remained speechless, not daring to discredit what my twin brother had said. Well. Jerald has a special gift, a sixth sense. This enabled him to feel other werewolves’ spirit wolves. Although he couldn’t talk to them, he could definitely feel them like they were his own.
“Alright,” my dad said after heaving a sigh. “This information changed the dynamics of this conversation. Caroline Willams…”
“Y-Yes, dad…”
Our old man stood up from his seat before giving my sister his final instructions. “I will give you the freedom to choose which one you want to attend. Let me know once you made up your mind.” He then left the table without looking back.
Carrie started crying. I wonder what was going on in her mind right now.
Jesse I was preparing everything for Liam. The time had come for him to return to Blackmoon after spending some time with me in Silverfang. As I gathered his things, a touch of melancholy washed over me. Our time together had been an incredible experience, and now it was coming to an end. "Make sure you don't forget anything," I reminded him. Liam nodded, a bright smile on his face. It had been two years since our battle with Corey, and we had all returned to our peaceful lives. My life had transformed into a colorful and joyous one since Liam had entered it. Carrie had finally agreed to let me be part of their lives as a co-parent with Liam. I had been making up for lost time and bonding with my son, and even the Silverfang pack celebrated his arrival the first time he set foot here. Jerick, although he hadn't forgiven me completely, was now civil and warmer with me. He had expressed his approval of me being in Liam's life despite everything that had happened between our packs, an
CarrieAs Jesse and I approached each other, a hush fell over the crowd, as if the world had suddenly paused. The air was filled with anticipation, and my heart raced with a mixture of nervousness and excitement. I called out to my son, who was now by my side, and he gladly approached me.Tears welled up in my eyes as I rushed towards him, and we held each other in a tight, heartfelt hug. My hands instinctively ran through his soft, tousled hair, and I caressed his face with an overwhelming sense of joy and relief. The emotions surged through me like a tidal wave.Liam looked up at me with a hint of concern in his innocent eyes, his small voice breaking the silence. "What's wrong, mommy?"I couldn't contain my tears, but they were tears of happiness, and a warm smile graced my face. "Mommy is just happy to see you again, sweetheart. I love you with all my heart. You know that, right?"Liam's face lit up with a bright, contagious smile, and he wrapped his little arms around me, declari
Jesse"Liam, wake up, please!" I cried out, my voice filled with desperation. Skull Valley loomed in the darkness around us, an eerie silence in the night. Liam lay motionless under the night sky. He didn't respond to my pleas. I tried to rouse him gently, tapping his cheeks, but his eyes remained closed. Panic and fear consumed me, and every passing second only deepened the dread in my heart."Liam!" I shouted, my voice trembling with raw emotion. My mind swirled with a torrent of terrifying possibilities, and I couldn't bear the thought of a future without my son. I shook him, holding onto his lifeless form, pleading with him to awaken, but he remained unresponsive. Desperation welled within me, and my cries grew more frantic, echoing through the desolate night."No... no... my son... wake up..." The words quivered on my lips, mirroring the unbearable agony that had taken hold of my soul.I looked around, feeling utterly helpless. Tears streamed down my cheeks, obscuring my vision a
Jesse I followed Ex-Beta Corey's instructions and arrived at Skull Valley alone, determined to do everything to save Liam. I knew the risks of facing Corey and his rogue army, but I had no choice. My heart pounded with a mix of fear and determination as I ventured deeper into the desolate valley. The moon hung low in the night sky, casting an eerie glow over the rocky terrain. I had to navigate carefully to avoid any unwanted confrontations. The wind rustled through the dry grass, and a chill ran down my spine, making me feel more vulnerable than ever. Finally, I spotted Corey standing near a gnarled tree, holding Liam tightly. Our eyes locked, and a tense silence hung in the air. “Mr. Morris!” Liam shouted, making Corey twitch slightly on his side, silencing him with a tightened grip. I clenched my fist seeing this. “Don’t you dare hurt him!” I shouted back. “I did your bidding. Now, release the boy at once and face me!” Corey shouted with a smirk, "You're a fool, Jesse. Coming
JesseThe day had come for me to face Corey. I stood before the mirror, adjusting my shirt, trying to steady my nerves. I'd been in many battles before, but this one was unlike any other. This time, I had to confront my enemy with an unknown disadvantage, and I needed to find a way to succeed, or else I would lose my son before he even knew I existed. We had decided to stay in the Astoria pack until the day of the confrontation. I was in the room that Alpha Christian had provided as my temporary chambers, mentally preparing for the impending war. Running away was not an option this time.As I tried to gather my thoughts and find the courage I needed, I heard a gentle knock on the door. I knew my mother had come to check on me by her gentle voice. She had been trying to engage me in conversation, sensing the weight of the situation, but my mind was preoccupied, and I had ignored her repeated attempts. She entered the room with some supplies for my journey, her concern and love evident
CarrieThe tension in the room was palpable, like an invisible storm cloud hanging heavily in the air. As the troops wisely decided to make their exit, their footsteps echoed in the silence, and the atmosphere grew even more charged. Alpha Christian and Jerick left as well, their absence leaving us alone to confront the emotional turmoil that had long been simmering beneath the surface.Nancy hesitated, her eyes brimming with tears. An unspoken concern was etched across her face, a deep worry for what might transpire in the room. However, her reluctance to leave was overridden by my firm determination. I could feel her trepidation, her desire to stay and protect, but this was the moment for Jesse and me alone."I think this is the time for Jesse and me to face our past," I finally broke the silence, my voice quivering with a mixture of resolve and anxiety."But, Carrie—"I locked eyes with her, silently pleading for her to trust my judgment. I knew that what needed to be said, what ne
