The celebration was loud and happy. I stood with Angus, watching our pack. Ronan was surrounded by hunters, all asking questions.

“How did you know the stag would be there?” Finn asked.

“I read the signs,” Ronan said. “The wind, the broken branches. You can learn it too.”

“Will you teach us the hand signals?” another warrior asked.

“Tomorrow. At dawn,” Ronan promised.

A wave of approval went through the crowd. I felt Angus’s satisfaction through our bond. It was a warm, steady feeling.

Then, Mary stepped forward with a waterskin. “For you,” she said softly.

Ronan stopped talking. He looked at her, and the wall in his eyes seemed to lower. He took the skin, his fingers brushing hers. “Thank you, Mary.”

His voice was different. Softer. Not filled with pain.

I leaned into Angus. “He’s home,” I whispered.

Angus held me tighter. “No, my love. He’s here finally.”

Later, in our den, I turned to him. “You knew he could do this.”

“I hoped,” Angus said. “The war broke him. He had to fix himself

The next morning, the entire pack gathered. It was a strange procession. Warriors were mixed with elders. Children walked beside their mothers. There were no weapons drawn. Only determination.Angus and I led the way. Ronan walked just behind us, his eyes constantly scanning the trees.“Do you think he’s out there?” I whispered to Angus.“I know he is,” Angus replied softly. “He’s watching.”Mary walked close by, helping an older woman. Her eyes kept finding Ronan, a worried crease on her forehead. We reached the edge of the woods that opened to the Moonstone Falls. The air was still. The beautiful waterfall, cascading over glowing white stones, was just ahead. And there, standing between the trees and the sacred pool, was a line of Thane’s warriors. They were armed now. And they were not smirking. They looked shocked. They had expected a squad of our best fighters. They did not expect to see our whole pack, standing silently together. An older wolf from Thane’s side stepped forward.

There had been a humming noise in the pack the next morning. It was not the same tension of nervous excitement for a hunt. This one came with curiosity and a healthy dose of doubts. I felt it through the pack link, rants of distrust. ‘He's making us check the wind every five minutes.’ ‘What do we do with this herb paste on our fur? It sounds so strange.’ ‘The brother of the Alpha is. intense.’ I was standing next to Angus at the top of a ridge, looking down over the groups of hunters. Ronan moved between them, an unnoticed force of nature. He wasn't yelling out orders. He was talking quietly to each small cluster, too soft for us to hear, but his plan was clear. He was teaching them. Mary was there, trying to step forward to stand beside me, wide-eyed as she watched Ronan apply a silent hand gesture to a young warrior. "By the Moon, Ellie," she whispered, putting my arm through hers. "I've never seen anything like that. He's created our fiercest hunters' shades." I clamped

The great hall of the new pack house finally stood quiet. Pine and the scent of wood filled the air, a sign of our new beginning. But I couldn't quiet my mind. I hurried from the great fireplace, my fingers running over the cold smoothness of the mantle. Angus sat in his chair and watched me, his bulk like an anchor to my web of thoughts. "The bond is restless tonight, my Luna," he growled, his voice vibrating through our mate's bond. "What's disturbing you?" I stood and wrapped my arms around myself. "It's Ronan," I admitted, facing him. "He has been home for weeks, but he's now a ghost among this pack. He does what he's told, but he doesn't live. He says words, but doesn't speak. I don't know your brother, Angus. And it troubles my mind." Saying his name was enough to wake a sleeping wolf around any other shifter close to it. Angus's eyes softened with a pain I knew all too well. Finding his lost brother had been nothing short of a miracle, but Ronan was broken. "He's been

The air inside the cave was thick and heavy. I pressed close to Angus, his body warmth combating the chill. I hated dark, narrow spaces. They reminded me of being scared and alone in Arleta. But Angus beside me, I was safe. Thane, who was usually so loud and angry, was a shattered man. He paced in front of us like a maddened beast, his shadow that capered on the lumpy walls. He complained about ancient stories and a goddess of the forest he claimed to listen to. He referred to a prediction that promised him an actual Luna. It was all a cock-and-bull story he had made up to justify his wickedness. A shiver ran down my back, remembering how he'd hunted me down. But then I sensed Angus's strength surrounding me. I wasn't that shy girl anymore. I took Angus's hand, and his fingers laced with mine immediately. We did not have to say a thing. Our bond was clear. "You're spewing old tales, Thane," Angus's tone cut through the heavy air. It was even but firm, with no room f

Moonlight and clearing reigned, as even now the full energy of the ancient tree coursed through me. Visions were mercifully bright and elegant, telling secrets of our pack's history and destiny. It stirred awe and wonder in me, as my brain tried to process the weight of what I had learned. Deep breath, to chill out the racing thoughts. I clearly knew that I had to share it with Angus and our advisors to let any meaning sink in, but for now, I may just stand in the serene clearing. Suddenly, silence fell apart with the rustling of leaves. Turned alert on high senses, a figure showed from the shadows, eyes sicked upon me with an unnerving intensity. Then close, I was shaken by the shiver that raked my spine again as he took a step closer, facial features still hidden by darkness. "Scream caution. Protect. Our pack."It raised wide hands, preparing to defend, were it needed. Another step forward and I could make out a little of their features - shape of face, general outline of eye
