Sometime later, deep into the night, a series of knocks filtered into my ears from the door. I barely moved from where I sat, legs sprawled and head tipped back against the wall. If it was room service, they would be fucking gone the next moment. But a moment later, they were not fucking going anywhere. The knocks turned incessant, and the landline telephone was starting to blow up. My phone was probably cracked somewhere on the dark floor, cracked under a piece of furniture… but I could hear the vibrations of it ringing silently from somewhere around.

I closed my eyes again and licked my bottom lip, dragging in a deep breath. But I could feel myself getting furious at the disturbances. After what seemed like an eternity of knocking, the door slid open, spilling light from the outside into the dark and massive space. I glared at the light, and there was a hotel worker standing stiffly, with a master key card in her hand.

But even still, he didn't love her. Leilani was rather obsessed with him, but mistook it for love. Honestly, Adonis shouldn't have had a happy ending either, because out of the three only Neil deserved to be happy. Most of what's happened to Leilani was all because of Adonis.
