The moment his hands were let loose, he immediately placed them on my back. His nails were digging with every thrust I gave, his soft whimpers, his eyes that stared into mine and they were the most beautiful things I've ever seen.

His mouth, which I crashed mine on, was soft.

Fuck! I've never seen a man this sexy.

I buried myself deep inside him, taking in the scent of his skin as I held him close. I didn't want to let go of him, and when he rode that peak……God, his face as he rode down from that peak was the most intox—

“Earth to Malakai.” I was snapped back into reality, I was really cooked, thinking about him in the middle of class.

“Dude, concentrate or you're gonna fail Mr. Fletcher's class." For a second, I wanted to murder Ronan for cutting my flashback short. “What are you even thinking about?”

“None of your business.” I rolled my eyes at him, trying to adjust to the chair when my eyes went down.

Shit! I was hard just thinking about him.

My dick was twitching, begging me for a release but I pushed the thoughts down. I didn't want to make a fool of myself here in front of everyone, so I adjusted my jeans with hope that no one would see.

“Oh shit—” Ronan laughed quietly as he patted my shoulder. “You got a boner.”

Of course, this bastard would notice.

“Shush, keep your voice down.” I glared at him, then checked my sides to see if someone had overheard him. But thankfully, everyone had their focus on whatever Mr. Fletcher was saying.

“There's something you're not telling me.” He leaned closer to me. “Is it Aubrey? Everyone knows how hard she got it down for you.”

“No, and it's none of your business.”

At this point, I was hoping Ronan would leave me alone and go bother someone else. I sighed out of relief when he did, then pulled out my phone and checked the message I had sent earlier.

He definitely read it, according to the double blue ticks but he didn't reply. I quickly typed something else, and sent it. He opened it almost immediately as it was sent, I thought he was going to ignore it but to my surprise I saw the bubbling up chat.

He was texting.

‘Who’s this?’ I almost laughed as the message came. He wanted to pretend like he doesn't know who was texting him, but darling I'm not that easily forgettable.

‘The guy who was inside you last night.’ I sent it, and he opened it immediately again.

For some odd reason, I picture him making a face as he reads that message. The chat bubble came up like he was typing then disappeared immediately, I frowned slightly.

‘Can I see you again?’ I hit send, the message stayed there without delivering. I tried again, but the result was the same. That's when a small notification popped up on my screen.

Message Failed.

My grin slowly faded. "No way."

I clicked on the conversation and immediately understood what had happened.

Blocked.

The little menace had actually blocked me.

I stared at the screen for a moment before letting out a laugh. "Seriously?”

I switched off my phone when Ronan came to my side again. Thankfully the class ended before he had a chance to say anything else, I quickly took my bag and dashed out.

“Malakai, Practice's by 4! Don't be late.” Ronan shouted after me but I ignored him, my phone buzzed with a message. I opened it to read the message which was sent by the cutie before he proceeded to block me again.

‘Mission Achieved, now leave me alone.” There's no way that was going to happen, baby boy.

I still can't believe I was blocked by him, apparently, my unforgettable charm wasn't as unforgettable as I thought. Or maybe he was trying very hard to forget? I was lost in my thoughts when I bumped into someone, I looked up and saw it was Hailey who happened to be my ex.

“Sorry about that.” I was already leaving when she blocked my path.

“It hasn't been a week since we broke up, you've already got someone making you smile and texting without looking where you're going.” She crossed her hands, and her minions were at her back.

“Two weeks actually.” I corrected. “And I don't see the reason why you're so concerned about that.”

She laughed. “Concern? Who? Me? Boy please.”

“Okay then.” I moved past her and her minions, I wasn't in the mood for conversations that are not worth engaging. But in as much as I wanted to avoid that, Hailey just had a quack of bringing drama wherever she is.

The next minute she clings to my hoodie. “I miss you Malakai, can we get back together?”

I wanted to laugh.

Get back together with someone who cheated on me with my fucking rival, then kissed him in front of everyone after his school had won us in a friendly match two weeks ago. She fucking mocked me, and now she wants to get back together? Hah—if shameless was a person.

I wanted to say a lot to her but I held myself back. “I'm no longer interested in dating you, Hailey.”

“C’mon Malakai.” She walked to where I was, her hands went to my dick area. “No one can pleasure you as I do.”

I actually laughed like I was holding it back for a while.

“Pleasure me?” I looked at her, she had that pitiful look that for the past six months we've been together she always makes to get her way. “Don't be fucking delusional. You never pleasure me.”

I left there immediately without waiting for her further comments, I was already late for hockey practice and this useless discussion with Hailey just cost me my little free time to grab food.

If I decide to head to the food stall across the campus gate, then I would definitely be late and since we're getting a new hockey Coach—i definitely don't want to come off as an irresponsible team Captain.

“You're early.” Ronan was the first to notice me as I stepped into the locker room.

“The Coach?” I asked, walking to my locker to drop my bag inside.

“Not yet here.” Jordan, another of my teammates said. "Word is he used to play competitively before this.”

I turned to him."Then he better be good,”

“Exactly, I figured they want to change things up here with real players.” Brian said. “Not just some nobodies who think they know all about the gameplay.”

"Last thing we need is another coach who talks big and knows nothing.” I removed my shirt, trying to bring out my hockey gears from the locker.

“There's a probl—Yooo Malakai I see you were busy last night.” Brian came close to me, touching my back as the rest of my teammates burst into cheers.

“What do you mean?” I had no clue why they were celebrating, it's not like we won any match.

"She must be a hell of a lady if she was able to leave her finger prints on your back.” I was confused before I realized why they were cheering, I quickly wore my hockey shirt and grabbed my helmet.

“It's not what you think it is.” Oh yes, it's definitely that except it wasn't a woman but I wasn't going to admit it to this dumb ass. “Get changed and meet me on the rink, let's have a warm up before the coach gets here.”

The moment I stepped on the ice, the familiar feeling hit me. I pushed forward, my skates kissing the ice as I moved around to explore. This rink was new, since the old one was abandoned due to faulty buildings. My teammates joined me as we did our usual drills on the ice, the sun was already setting and our new coach who was allegedly a competitive player according to Jordan was nowhere to be seen.

“Let's give a few more minutes, if the coach's not here then we bounce.” I told my teammates who were already getting tired of waiting. I was tired too, I had better things to do like disturbing the cutie that I met at that bar. The door to the arena opened, the first thing I noticed was the sound of boots coming through the metal steps then the blonde hair that came to view as the familiar figure stood just an inch from the ice.

“Sorry, I'm late.” I think I just lost my voice.

𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐭My headache was getting worse.I had noticed it earlier, but I had ignored it because there was too much work sitting in front of me. Every time I tried to focus on one thing, another seemed to find its way onto my desk, and I was beginning to wonder if I would ever actually make it home before midnight.I leaned back in my chair and pressed my fingers against my temple, closing my eyes for a few seconds as I tried to ease the pressure building behind them. It didn't help much, so I let out a quiet breath and looked at the files again.I had been under serious stress all week, and my body was finally starting to remind me that I wasn't made of steel. At least our next match was still a few weeks away. That gave me enough time to get the team prepared, figure out what we were going to do without Malakai and hopefully get some rest myself. The thought of Malakai immediately brought the image of him lying on that hospital bed back into my mind, and I quickly pushed it awa

𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐭Apparently, Malakai's dad was a jerk ass. That was the only conclusion I could come to after standing there and listening to the two of them argue like neither of them had any intention of backing down.I took a slow breath and looked at him. “Mr. Joslael, this isn't the time for this.”His eyes moved toward me, still carrying that same coldness he'd had since he walked into the room.I didn't give him a chance to interrupt.“If Malakai wants to process his withdrawal from the team, he'll have to go through the proper procedure. That can happen when he's fully recovered and able to make that decision without everyone standing over him.”His expression hardened. “I don't remember asking for your opinion.”“I know.”“Then don't give it.”I kept my voice calm even though my head was still pounding.“I'm not deciding what's best for your son. I'm speaking as his coach, and right now, his withdrawal from the team isn't something we're going to process in the middle of an arg

𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐭“What?”For a moment, I just stared at him, certain I had misunderstood what he'd said. Malakai's father remained completely calm, as though telling me his son was quitting the hockey team was nothing more serious than asking me to change the practice schedule.“I said you should begin making the proper arrangements for Malakai's withdrawal from the team.”I looked at Malakai, and the expression on his face told me he was just as shocked as I was.“You can't be serious.”“I am.”“Mr. Joslael, he's one of the strongest players on this team. We had scouts at today's match, and one of them was specifically interested in Malakai's gameplay. Pulling him out now doesn't make any sense.”His father barely reacted. “I don't care about the scouts.”I frowned. “You should. They're looking at his future.”“I said I don't care.”His voice was cold enough to make me pause. “This is exactly what I've been trying to make him understand. He needs to let go of this obsession before it

𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐭“I was wondering when you'd show up.”I opened the ward door and found Malakai already looking toward me, a small smile appearing on his face the moment our eyes met.“Hey.”I closed the door behind me and walked toward the bed, dropping my bag beside the chair before pulling it closer. “How are you feeling?”“Better now that you're here.”I couldn't help the small smile that crossed my face. “You're supposed to be resting.”“I am resting.”“You're flirting.”“Maybe I'm resting and flirting at the same time.”I shook my head, but the smile stayed as I sat down beside him. He looked better than he had when they first brought him in, though the brace around his injured leg was enough to remind me that he wasn't anywhere close to being fine yet.“We won the game,” I said.He raised an eyebrow. “You already told me that.”“Did I?”“Yeah.”I frowned, trying to remember exactly when I'd sent him the message, then remembered standing in the parking lot after Reyes drove away,

𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐭“We need to rethink your priorities here.”Reyes's voice was cold enough to make me straighten despite how exhausted I was. I stood in the parking lot outside the arena, still wearing my team jacket, my bag hanging from one shoulder while the noise from inside slowly faded behind us. The game was over, and thankfully, we'd won, but it had been far from the clean victory I'd wanted. We had barely managed to pull it off after everything that happened with Malakai.I kept my eyes lowered.“I understand, sir. I'm sorry. It won't happen again.”Reyes stared at me for a few seconds, his expression giving nothing away. There was no sympathy in his face, no sign that he cared that one of his players had been injured right in front of me or that I'd spent the rest of the game trying to keep the team together after it happened.“You understand?” he asked.I nodded.“I don't think you do.” I slowly raised my eyes.“You're the coach of this team, Rivera. Not Malakai's personal c

𝑴𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒊"It's a Grade 2 MCL sprain. There's also a bone bruise and a small tear in the meniscus."I stared at the doctor for a moment, trying to process everything he had just said. My knee was still aching badly, and every little movement sent another reminder through my body that something wasn't right. My father was the first to speak."How long will it take him to recover?"I turned my head toward him, wondering again why he was even here. My parents had never been interested in coming to my games before, so seeing them sitting in my hospital room after my injury felt strange. Maybe my father had come to see how badly I had messed up this time. Maybe he'd come to remind me that he had warned me about hockey from the beginning. The doctor looked at him before answering."If he responds well to treatment, four to six weeks before he can return to full contact."Four to six weeks.I breathed out slowly, letting the number settle in my head. It wasn't great, but it wasn't the
