47. Big Wolf Ride

I sat leaning on the rock to maintain a straight posture. Gwaine was up on his feet and he was as unclad as a child.

He bent over and let out a loud howl then fell on his knees with a thud. He made a few low grunts before his back protruded and the sound of cracking bones filled the air. I closed my eyes as it wasn’t a pretty sight. The next time I opened them, Gwaine’s wolf, Vilkus was towering above me.

It was the largest wolf I’ve ever seen and seemed to have grown even bigger since the last time I saw it. The fur on his skin was as thick as anything I’ve ever seen and I watched him as he stood there, shaking his head occasionally.

He stared at me, the gold rimmed eyes seemed to be staring right into my soul.

Vilkus nudged me with his snout, as if he was asking me to ride on him.

He came lower and I climbed on his back, using the rock I had rested my head on earlier to support my weight. He stood up when I was settled and the ran along the river bank with the wind on both our face
