60. Bad News

Gwaine’s POV:

I leaned on my arm as I watched Catherine sleep. She was spread lazily on the bed and the morning sunlight fell just so, illuminating every inch of her body. It made everything more beautiful and that made me feel a pang a warmth, an affection which I couldn't explain. The sheets shifted a bit, exposing the now visible buldge on her stomach.

She was only a few weeks pregnant but she was already twice her size. Her belly was distended slightly, giving her a big bump that looked like she was more advanced than she actually was. I leaned in and trailed a finger on her stomach, it felt harder than I expected. There was a sudden movement in her stomach and I could swear I felt the baby kick. A now familiar warmth creeped into my heart as I smiled.

I ran a finger on her stomach again, I needed to make sure I didn’t just imagine the movement. The baby kicked again and I almost erupted out of excitement. It was real. And this time it was a strong kick. I chuckled quietly as
