I couldn’t do anything but witness Striker pick up Beatrice in his arms and take off. Everyone was equally shocked like me, and I had a hunch I was supposed to be angry or embarrassed because people were watching me, waiting for my outburst.

I didn’t feel any of it. All I felt was pain—not that jealousy kinda mental pain but physical pain. Did I get hit in my chest? I couldn’t recall but it felt like an elephant had trampled over my heart.

“ Are you okay? ” Alpha Chester approached me as I kept bending down, trying to catch my breath.

“ I… ” I trailed off. Another wave of scorching pain hit me in the chest and I fell to my knees, gasping.

‘ What—What’s happening? ’ Zoey panicked, sounding equally agonized.

“ Lady Lana! ” Alpha crouched down and gripped my shoulder.

I hissed, closing my eyes. There were just so many voices and whispers around, but I couldn’t seem to focus on anything. My mind was growing numb and my heart was being squeezed in some invisible fists.

I do think Alpha Chester might think Lana is the real Lenora and of course, after those fights she has gained the respect of the pack.

I believe Alpha Chester knows she is Lenora; he used to visit her mother and her after all.

oh and I think Alpha Chester behaved like that because she earned his respect......she did beat two "higher level" ladies....he most definitely respects her now.

Nora and Striker's story was different from all the stories I ever wrote before.
