Ashton’s POV

The war room smelled like steel and old maps.

Xander stood at the head of the long table, his hands flat on the wood, and every wolf in Noctaryn and Aurion was watching him.

“We have seven days,” Xander said. “Seven days until the ceremony of ascension. We will make it memorable."

The Moon Goddess was said to appear during every Ascension. Both Sun and Moon wolves believed her presence brought luck to the pack that hosted her. It was one of the few traditions we shared.

Seven days.

  • Omega of Two Packs   The Prophecy

Zeth POVAshton drew a slow breath as the heat beneath his shoulder blade faded. Xander kept one arm around him, watching his face closely, while I rested a hand on his other shoulder. Across the room, Akim’s golden light and Noah’s silver glow dimmed together, leaving the room quiet again. Whatever had passed between them had eased the pain, but none of us knew why. “I… I can breathe,” he whispered, voice raspy in the still room. “The burning stopped.”Alaric pushed off the doorframe before either of us answered. His eyes were fixed on the floor under our boots instead of the sleeping boys. Urgency sat heavy on him.“We can’t stay here,” Alaric said, his fingers tightening around his cane. His eyes remained fixed on the floor beneath our boots. “The barriers were built to keep something below the city, and for centuries, they held. What happened here tonight should not have been possible. If the seal continues to weaken, we may not have enough time to discover what lies beneath us b

  • Omega of Two Packs   THE THING BENEATH US

Zeth’s POVI didn't answer him right away. I crossed the small space, my boots clicking too loud against the flagstones, and stopped right beside the wooden table where Alaric had propped open the ancient, brittle ledger."What is it, Alaric?" I asked, keeping my voice. He pointed to the margin of the page, where a narrow strip of parchment had been folded twice and tucked deep into the binding crease, hidden so well that anyone just turning the leaves would have missed it entirely. My heart did a slow, heavy thud against my ribs."It wasn't in the boxes in Mara's room," Alaric whispered, his eyes lifting to mine, filled with a sudden, sharp panic. "I came down here to check the regional census records from the year the old packs were driven out. I pulled this volume off the shelf, and... it dropped out of the binding."I reached out, my fingers, though my stomach was coiling into a tight, sick knot. I pulled the folded slip free. The paper was thick, slightly yellowed at the edges, a

  • Omega of Two Packs   Shadows in the Council

Zeth’s POVI left Ashton, Xander, the boys, and Alaric in the mages’ temple. The crystal had stopped shaking, and the pulling in Ashton’s back had finally gone quiet. For a few minutes, I had let myself believe we could breathe again. But as I stepped out into the bright Aurion heat, I remembered the calendar carved into the palace stones and the responsibilities waiting for me. The full council was already gathered in the grand hall.By the time I reached the high double doors, Lord Criff and Lord Drago were standing near the threshold. Ahmor was leaning against a marble pillar, his arms crossed over his chest, his jaw working like he had a mouthful of gravel."You missed the morning muster, Zeth," Criff said before my boots even hit the carpet. His thin voice carried off the high ceiling. "The southern guards report three more sheep missing from the lower pasture near Lomi. No blood. No tracks. Just empty pens and villagers locking their doors before the sun even drops.""I was busy

  • Omega of Two Packs   HOLD HIM

Xander's POVAkim was crying in my arms. His face was red, his little fists were tight in my tunic, and he was shaking his head like he wanted the gold light to go away. The circle on the floor had gone dark again after that flash. But the box on the stone table was shaking where Alaric had dropped it. Alaric had both hands on the lid trying to keep it shut, and the whole table was vibrating.Ashton was still sagging against my chest. His back was against me, his breathing uneven. My one arm was around him, and my other arm was around Akim, who was curled into my neck."Hold him tighter," Ashton said, his voice thin. He reached up and put his hand on Akim's back over mine. "He's scared.""I got him," I said low, into Akim's hair. "I got you. It's dark now. Look, no light."Akim didn't stop. He pushed his face harder into my neck and cried harder.Noah was right beside us where I left him, sitting on the floor with his legs tucked under him. He wasn't crying. He was watching Akim with

  • Omega of Two Packs   THE CRYSTAL

Xander's POVThe light was still there.Gold. Everywhere. It covered the stone walls, the mages' grey robes, and Ashton's face. The orb in the open box pulsed like a heart, and the mark on Ashton's back was burning beneath his shirt.Ashton made a small sound, like he was trying not to let anyone hear how much it hurt.I moved toward him with Akim in one arm and Noah beside me, catching Ashton when his knees buckled. I lowered myself with him, pulling him against my chest before he could hit the floor. Akim clung to my tunic while Noah stared at the glowing orb."Ashton," I said, placing my hand against his lower back. The heat coming through his shirt was frightening. "Look at me."He opened his eyes, his breathing uneven. "It hurts, Xander. It's pulling at me.""Pulling you where?""I don't know." He squeezed his eyes shut. "I can feel something down there."Before I could ask him anything else, Alaric slammed the box shut. The light disappeared instantly, leaving the temple dim exc

  • Omega of Two Packs   SISIL

Zeth's POVThe council room was already full when I walked in.They all stood. Criff, Drago, Sisil, Ahmor, Mark. I didn't tell them to sit. I walked to my chair and sat first. Then they sat. Criff straight as a stick, Drago already sweating through his linen, Sisil with her papers neat, Ahmor with his fists on the table like he wanted to fight someone, Mark holding his ledger and not looking at anyone.Sisil had grain numbers laid out. Same papers she brings every week."My King," she said, calm. "We were waiting. Sera village reports...""I know about Sera village," I said.I kept my voice flat. My hands were on the table. I made them stay still.Drago wiped his forehead with his sleeve. Criff watched me with those thin eyes.Sisil paused. Just a second. Then she went on like I had told her to continue."Then you have seen my report. They lost another three bags last night. No footprints. People are talking about...""People are talking about a lot of things," I said. "Let's talk ab
