Xander’s POV

Nothing is more important to me right now than saving Ashton and my baby.

I was running through the palace with Zeth beside me, and behind us the entire war band moved like a storm breaking through stone.

Doors were being kicked in one after another. Every room we entered was empty. The beds were cold, the corridors were hollow, and the smell of smoke and iron from the courtyard still clung to the back of my throat.

“Can you pick up his scent,” Zeth asked me between breaths, hi

  • Omega of Two Packs   In Zeths Arms

Ashton's POVXander stood up.He didn't do it fast and angry. He was slow, like his body was heavy.Zeth looked up at him, his face pale in the firelight, his hands still fisted on his knees. "Xander," he said, low.Xander didn't look at him. He looked at me. His eyes were wet but his jaw was locked so tight I could see the muscle jumping, the way it does when he's trying not to break."I'm not okay with this," he had said, and now he was living it, standing over us, his shadow falling over me and Zeth and the fire between us.My heart dropped into my stomach. My wolf whined so loud inside me. "Xander, please," I whispered, reaching for his hand without thinking. "Don't...""I need air," he said, his voice rough, not looking at my hand. "I need to walk. Don't... don't follow me, Ashton."And then he walked out.Just walked away from the fire, into the dark trees toward the river, his big shoulders tight, his hands fisted at his sides. He didn't slam anything. He didn't shout. That was

  • Omega of Two Packs   The Night Fire

Ashton's POVThe words hung in the cold wood air even after I said them._I'm not something either of you has to win._No one moved. Onyx kept walking, his hooves soft on the leaves, but Xander's chest behind me had gone completely still, and Zeth's horse had stopped a few steps ahead, his shoulders locked tight under his black cloak. For a second I thought I had ruined everything. That I had been too sharp, too loud, that I had made both of my kings angry at me at once. Then Xander's arm came back around my waist. Not tight and possessive like before."You're right," he said quietly, his voice low against my ear. "You're right, love."Zeth didn't say anything for a long time. Then he cleared his throat and kicked his horse forward, not looking back at us. "We need to make camp before dark. There's a clearing ahead by the river. It's safe."He rode ahead, faster than he needed to, and I felt something twist in my chest watching his back, Akim bouncing soft against it, Noah holding on.

  • Omega of Two Packs   BETWEEN TWO KINGS

Xander's POVI pulled Ashton up onto my horse first. It wasn't a discussion. It was instinct. The horse, Onyx, was already shifting under the weight of the packs, snorting at the cold morning air, and Ashton was still pale from the mark burning in his back.I swung up, then reached down and pulled him up with me, my hands locked around his waist. He made a small sound, surprised, but he came easily, settling in front of me the way he always does when we ride, his back against my chest, his white-blond hair tickling my chin."Hold the mane if you get dizzy again," I whispered against his ear. "I've got you."He nodded and leaned back into me, his small bag thumping against my thigh. Zeth was watching us.He had Akim strapped to his chest in a sling. Noah was up in front of him on his own black war horse, small hands holding the saddle horn. Zeth's hands were careful around both of them, one around Noah, one supporting Akim. Some of the Aurion soldiers fell in behind us, the older ones

  • Omega of Two Packs   LEAVING HOME

Ashton's POVI woke up tangled. Not tangled like blanket-tangled. Tangled like Xander-tangled. His leg over mine, his arm over my waist, his face buried in my neck, his breathing slow against my skin. For a second I forgot everything. The war. Mara. The mark on my back. Aurion.I just remembered his hands on me last night. How he held me. How he kept whispering my name like he couldn't believe I was human and back in our bed. My wolf made a soft, happy noise inside me. I tried to stay still so I wouldn't wake him, but Xander always knows when I'm awake. His arm tightened."Don't go," he mumbled into my neck, voice rough with sleep.I smiled against his hair. "I'm not going anywhere. You're the one leaving me in this bed alone."He made a sleepy sound and rolled, pulling me on top of him. I laughed."I have to go check the horses with Zeth," he said, but he didn't let go. His hands were on my waist, holding me there. "Roric is already waiting in the war room again. He keeps trying t

  • Omega of Two Packs   In His Arms

Ashton's POVXander didn't let me come with them. Not inside, at least.Zeth, Xander and Alaric went into Zeth's big war tent to talk, and Alaric kept saying things like "the council will need more" and "the temple". I sat outside with the kids instead, on the furs they laid out for us by the fire.Noah was being Noah, quiet and watching everything. Akim was on my lap, awake now. He had his little fist in my mouth again, his light flickering whenever Zeth's men walked past.I kept pulling Xander's tunic down. It was too big. It smelled like him though, like pine and smoke, and that made my wolf settle a little. My back itched where Zeth said the mark was. I kept wanting to scratch it but I didn't want Akim to see me scared. After a while, the tent flap opened.Alaric came out first, leaning on his cane. Then Xander, then Zeth. Zeth's face was locked down again.Xander looked at me across the fire. His eyes found mine immediately, like they always do."We need to talk," he said.Zeth c

  • Omega of Two Packs   The Council

Xander's POVI summoned them before dawn.Lord Roric, Lady Mirelle, Lord Ellian, Lord Fen, Lady Gima, Lord Joran, Lady Caelis. Seven left. We used to be twelve before Merrick. Before the war took half the table. They filed into the war room still pulling on their cloaks, eyes puffy with sleep, confused. No one had called a full council in weeks. Not since we buried the dead. They stopped when they saw who was already inside.Zeth stood by the cold hearth, his armor dusty, his face still red from crying last night but now locked down hard. Beside him stood an old man I had never seen before, in dirty white robes that dragged on the stone, leaning on a cane like his knees would give out any second.Ashton was by the window with Akim asleep against his chest, his blanket now replaced with one of my tunics that hung too big on him, his white-blond hair fell over his shoulders. Noah was tucked against his side, small hand fisted in Ashton's tunic.Roric was the first to speak. "Your Majes
