Kieran's POV

I woke up slowly, my body aching from the battle. Every muscle protested as I shifted, my mind still foggy from sleep. The first thing I noticed was the quiet. The air was still, peaceful, a stark contrast to the chaos from before.

Then, my eyes landed on Nyx.

She was curled up beside me, her chest rising and falling steadily in deep sleep. Strands of her dark hair fell over her face, and her lips were slightly parted. She looked exhausted, but peaceful. It was a beautiful sight. Usually, she was either training, arguing, or buried in those old books about the goddess’ wars.

She needed rest.

I didn’t want to wake her, so I stayed still, just watching her. The blue light in the room made her look even softer, her sharp edges dulled by sleep. She was always fierce, always ready to fight, but like this, she seemed... calm. Safe.

My stomach growled loudly, cutting through the silence. I sighed, rubbing my face. The only thing in my head was food.
