ANOTHER BAD DAY

I was glancing over my phone when I suddenly received a text message from Alpha Steven.

"Hey, your mom said that you lock yourself in a room? Is it because Ace rejected your or there is more to that?"

I am really shy with Alpha Steven. He really seemed to care about me more than my mom.

"Thank you for the concern Alpha Steven. As of now, all I want to do is to be alone. There are so many things going on with my mind right now!"

He immediately replied to my text message. "Would you mind if I call? I am just really worried about you!"

Alpha Steven called me and I answered him immediately.

"Hey what's up?" he asked.

I forced myself to smile and speak with a loud voice. "Hey Alpha Steven! I cannot wait to work for you tomorrow. In spite of my lack of skills, you still want to become your assistant!"

"Don't mention it! I know that the good news you received in your special day is nothing compared to the bad news you got!"

I took a deep sigh before I responded. Now, I have come to realize that I need to open up my problems to Alpha Steven since he is more mature than me.

"I hope you don't say this to my mom or anyone else, but I was really shocked when I found out that she is having an affair with Conan— one of the most influential among the pack!"

"Yes I heard about him too. From what I have heard, he is a billionaire and yet he does not want to show it to everyone!"

"Alpha Steven, despite his wealth and his popularity, I don't want him for my mom. She deserves someone better than him!" I exclaimed.

"And what specific about him that you really hate?"

"I hate him at all. If my mom does not break up with him, then I will probably distance myself from her. I love my mom and I want her to stay away with that Alpha leader!"

"I am sorry but I think you are being too selfish for now, Sophia! Your father has died a long time ago so I think it would be better if you let her do what she wants with her life!"

I always listen to Steven whenever he gave a piece of advice before! As a matter of fact, he is like a second father to me. However, this time I turned a deaf ear with what he is saying. I mean what I say! I hate Conan for my mom and it won't change!"

"I feel like you are still shocked and are still in a state of adjusting. Or I think you are too affected with Ace rejecting you and you thought that you hated your mom's boyfriend. Let us wait for a while and let's see if you still feel the same after one week or more!"

Contrary to what Alpha Stevens claims, I know that I never vent over my frustration to Conan. I just simply hate him.

"Okay fine, I will talk to your mom and I'll do my best to persuade her not to disturb you!"

"Thank you again, Alpha Steven!"

"You're welcome! You should take your rest and prepare everything for tomorrow. Please wear formal attire because you will work in a very decent office!"

"What is the time of my duty?"

"You should be dressed at 7:30 in the morning!"

"I will take note of that Sir!"

I hang up the phone and I alarmed my phone at exact 6:30 a.m. One hour should be enough to prepare everything I need. In the midst of my sleep, a loud knock on the door wakes me up.

I was kind of irritated that I still don't want to wake up from my bed.

"Hey Sophia! It seems like you are having a good sleep. Are you sure you're in a good mood to start your duty?"

As soon as I opened my eyes, I saw Alpha Steven wearing a coat. He smiled at me and I was stunned for a while. I turned my gaze at his watch and saw that it's already 7:30 in the morning!

I covered my mouth in shock.

The smile on his face did not disappear. "Don't worry, I seriously understand that you had a bad day yesterday so I am fine with you being late!"

I gave him an apologetic grimace and I put the blame on my alarm clock. "I am sorry Alpha James! It's my alarm clock's fault! How long have you been here?"

He reiterated what he said, "it's okay not to be okay sometimes. Actually I just arrived five minutes ago. So, are you in the mood to work today?"

I answered with a lively voice. "Of course I do. Can you wait for 10 minutes? I will just take a bath and dress up!"

"Yes, you can! I shall wait on the sofa outside!"

I immediately closed the door and took a bath and dressed up. I typically spend almost one hour in a shower, but not this time!

Five minutes later, I came out of my room with my hair still wet and my coat still crumpled. I carried my handbag with flower designs. I dragged my feet towards the dining area and I saw Alpha Steven beside Conan and they were talking to each other. I turned my gaze at my mom who was sipping her coffee.

Conan was the first to discover my presence. He stood up and pulled a chair for me, trying to gain my attention!

"Sorry if we did not wake you up earlier!" he apologized.

I ignored his presence and locked my eyes at Alpha Steven.

"I am really sorry Alpha Steven, I think we should go now!" I said with a serious voice.

"Are you not going to eat?" Conan asked worriedly.

"Yes Honey! Conan cooked for your breakfast!" my mom said, smiling at me.
