TOMMY

.

.

At eleven pm, I pulled up at Vance Pharmaceuticals. As I turned off the car engine, silence snatched the environment. There was no car, no people, just the fluorescent light that bounced off the walls.

Gerard was already here, standing near the elevator, hands in the pocket of his lab coat.

“Nice outfit.” He smirked, pressing the button of the elevator.

“Shut up.” I took off the dark shade and pulled back the hood of the black sweatshirt.

As we stepped in and the door hissed close. The elevator was much smaller than the main one. Our shoulders were practically bumping.

“Did you pass the back gate?” Gerard asked, pressing another button.

“Yes.”

The floor vibrated beneath my feet as we ascended. I kept my gaze on the floor indicator.

The door slid open, and I trailed behind him into his laboratory. My eyes locked onto the amber bottle on the middle counter, and my stomach twisted.

“Are you alright?” Gerard asked.

I gulped hard. “My life is in your hands; how could I feel alrig

GERARD..Jeff and I sauntered into another larger room. “The workers change here,” he said, opening one of these lockers. After rifling through the locker for some time, he pulled out a bottle of medication. “Here, two,” he said, “I’ve forgotten you are familiar with medicines.” He smiled, just a little. “Oh let me get you water.”I nodded. My ears were still ringing. Not from the injury but from Tommy. What the hell had just happened? I leaned against the locker, the coolness of metal sinking into my skin, but melting beneath the heat simmering in me.My mind kept looping, and my body felt like it was boiling, like I had a fever. His body between my thighs, his knees brushing mine. My fingers on the narrow waist of his.The feeling of Tommy’s finger on my face. The way it trailed down my face, his thumb hovering close to my thumb. My fingers moved to the spot, and then I dragged my thumb to my lips. It lingered there as I wondered what it would feel like to have his lips on min

TOMMY..I pressed the cotton to Gerard’s forehead and he let out a soft wince, a tight exhale passing through his teeth. His sound reverberated through me, making my insides jolt. I could feel my chest swelling. My fingers trembled as I patted his head. And worse, I didn’t even know why. He was the one bleeding, yet it somehow felt like I was the one hurting.Stupid, right?Gerard’s body tightened, and I muttered, “Sorry.” My voice came out softer than I expected—more careful. “Hold still.”Breathing out slowly, his lashes dipped. “I didn’t do it because I wanted your attention,” he said, his voice low. “I just moved. I wasn’t even thinking.”“It was very obvious you weren’t,” I snapped before I could catch myself. “I’m the one with a helmet, yet you’re the one jumping in to save me.” I seethed even more. “And why the hell aren’t you wearing a helmet?”“There was just one left.” His lips quirked, a small curve forming on his lips. “I gave it to you.”I froze, my eyes meeting his fo

TOMMY..A few days had passed since I’d flown out of the country for the doctor consultation. The new doctor was thorough—he had helped me flush the toxic compound from my system. He had explained the meals I could eat, which could ease up the transformation. I was still waiting to check my Alpha Percentile. The result ought to come out today. That would decide if I should just give up on everything, manage my condition, or continue living the lie.I stared at my phone, no message yet. I dipped back into my pocket and pushed the door open.My eyes fell on Gerard. It threw me for a moment. Gerard hadn’t been coming. It’s been four days since that day he left. I had thought he was giving me space. I had already gotten used to the office without him.I forced my voice to neutral. “Good morning.”“Morning,” Gerard returned, his voice distant.I nodded. For someone who was said to be obsessive, he really was good at giving spaces. The chair scraping against the floor filled the room

GERARD..Should I call Edwin? Should I not? Both questions split my mind. If he were to show up here, won’t he throw a handcuff around my hands? But if I leave now, that's the worst.Shutting my eyes, I began to think. Were there any cameras? Were there any eyewitnesses?I retraced my footsteps. Down the alley, I had chased him up. The four junctions. A memory of CCTV flashed through my mind. Perfect. Just perfect. Sooner or later, it would show me chasing down the man. One more reason for them to believe I was the one pulling the strings. I exhaled and pulled out my phone. I scrolled through my phone and dialed Edwin’s number. The dial tone cut through the heavy silence. His event didn’t ring for long, before the line connected.“Good morning detective,” I said, “you might not believe what I’m about to say, but I think I might have accidentally stumbled across another dead body.”“Send the address.” He hung up.I slipped my phone back into my pocket and stared at the body st

CHAPTER 61“Space?” What the actual hell does he mean, space?I slam the office door harder than I mean to, the bang echoing down the empty corridor. My boots feel heavier than usual as I cross the room and drop into the chair Jeff and I always claim.I rake both hands through my hair, tugging hard enough that my scalp stings. One week. Seven days ago we were fine. More than fine. We were laughing in the car at 2 a.m., sharing fries, his shoulder bumping mine every time he reached for the ketchup. Then all of a sudden, “Gerard, I think we need space.”Space. I stare at the table, tracing the fake wood grain with my thumb. Don’t push. Don “Don’t crowd him,” I remind myself for the hundredth time. One wrong move and he’ll vanish for good this time. I can’t risk it. Even if every alpha instinct in my blood is roaring at me to march over there, pin him to the nearest wall, and demand answers until he gives them to me.The door creaks. My head snaps up.Tommy steps in, hoodie sleeves pu

  • Omega’s Project    Chapter 60

TOMMY..Look away, look away, I told myself multiple times before I finally found the will to do so.I tore my eyes away, acting like I hadn’t noticed how good he looked in that white dress shirt, and black trousers. Like I hadn’t noticed the faintest tug of a smile immediately our eyes locked, and the way his hand raised as though he almost waved. But I told myself not to look. I had practiced this. No eye contact. Imagine he was as invisible as the wind.Gerard’s smile faltered. His shoulders tightened for a moment and then nothing. Then Liam scowled. “Oh, for fuck sake.” He muttered loud enough to stir the air. “What is this bastard doing here?”Jeff blinked as he had just stepped into the wrong office. “Uh…”Gerard’s brows remained straight, but the twitch at the corner of his lips betrayed it. “For the tenth time Liam, I’m not a bastard, I have parents who actually wanted me.”I should have felt bad for Liam. But Liam keeps calling him a bastard when he knew fully well how Gera
