Mr Hefner Alejandro?

****Elena*****

The moment I heard the car horn, I knew he was the one. I took one last glance at my reflection and left my apartment for it.. A black Tesla sat outside, a man in black holding out the door for me so I can hop in. I approached the vehicle, anxiety creeping in that instant. I jutted out my chin, trying to hide how nervous I felt, asides from the fact that this was the first time I'm seeing him after the talk at the cemetery, I was apprehensive about meeting his dad for the first time in two years. . I boarded the vehicle and settled in comfortably. To my astonishment, Lucas was no where to be seen. According to what he told me, he is supposed to be the one to come pick me up. I let it slide. Anyways, it's all for the best, I'd enjoy sometime alone before I get dominated by his cold aura again. The vehicle revved to life and I was getting driven to the location.

I stared out the window, appreciating Boulevard. The street was lit up by street lamps, some teenage couples were seen strolling the streets, appreciating the evening sky and cool breeze. It remind me of those times when Ray and I would go for an evening walk, count the stars in the sky and try to practice constellation. A small smile lit up my face. If only he loved me in return. I jerk back to consciousness when in no time, we reached our destination.

I alighted the car as it was held open for me. The instant I dropped off, I saw him there, standing at the parking lot. I swallowed hard, seems like he was anticipating my arrival. My breath momentarily caught when we locked glances. goddammit! He was drop dead handsome!. His once black hair was now blonde, styled perfectly to fit the shape of his face. I cleared my throat, my legs making its way to where he stood. I stopped dead in my tracks when a strange lady surfaced. She was slender, had a shapely figure, imp thin waist, a blonde hair, olive, flawless skin. Unexpectedly, she hung her hands in his waiting arm and stretched out to kiss him on the chin. A sick feeling settled in the pit of my stomach. What on earth is going on?' Did he call me to accompany him here when he's got some other chick around?!

I took several steady breaths, plastered a perfect smile on my face. After all, the birthday party is only going to be for a night. Basically, less than four hours. I'd make my escape once I present to the celebrant the gift I prepared for him. I let my cold, numb palm rub my chin.

'Please, lead the way in' I told the man who drove me here. Thankfully, he was still with me.

'I'm sorry Miss, you have to go in with the boss'

'I think he's busy for now.. He'll meet me indoors' I expressed calmly.

'Busy? Is that an excuse to escape?'

'Holy shit!' I spun around to face him, I wasn't aware he already made it to where I was. The lady from earlier was no where to be seen. Perhaps, he discharged her for the mean time, I scoffed inwardly..

'What? Are you surprised?' he cocked his head to the side, flashing me a wicked smile..

I knitted my brows and sent him a hostile glare.. 'Should I not be? You should have accompanied your other acquaintance in...' I blamed myself for having said those words immediately they dropped out..

'You aren't jealous. Are you?'

'I'm not!' I responded a bit too quickly.

He adjusted his designer tailored tuxedo, wearing some more confidence before speaking.

'Time to go in'. He offered his arms so I could hang mine in them. One second before we stepped into the hall, he said to me 'You are my mistress from now on'.

I pulled back but he was strong enough to push me in. 'Let go of me! This wasn't part of the agreement' I whispered fiercely.

'This is one of the numerous things you'll be doing for me' he repeated, brushing his big thumb on my exposed neck line. I shivered slightly, his touch making goosebumps rise on my skin even in my unfortunate situation.

.......

For a birthday party, the hall was duly decorated. There were long Crystal chandeliers that hung from the ceiling. Different colorful arts which hung on the walls, a number of tables which were all carefully arranged.

Almost immediately we stepped in, murmurs emerged from the crowd and the atmosphere grew thicker. Anxiety, mixed with inferiority complex kicked in, causing me to grip Lucas's arms harder than I intended to. He led me to the front table, exclusively reserved for us.

'Isn't she the eldest daughter of Carson? The one who eloped with her best friend on their wedding day? What's she doing here? How did she get the guts to show up here with him after everything she did?!..' some murmurs from the crowd were distinct and I was able to hear some of their discussions...

I pursed my lips together. Why the hell did I not think of this before coming? I should've just escaped to protect myself from being the talk of the party! I said inwardly.

A couple also made their way in that instant. They were the Smiths. Newly wedded couples, a marriage that was also arranged by their parents. Fortunately, they were able to distract the guests, taking away their attention from me. I loudly exhaled through my mouth.

'You can let go now' he whispered into my ears.

I flushed and removed my hands from his arm. 'I got carried away. Sorry'

'Mr. Lucas!' A man exclaimed from a distance, taking graceful strides to our table.

Lucas stood as soon as the man arrived. 'Mr. Anderson, it's good to see you' he said, stretching out his hands for a handshake.

'Good to see you too' he quirked his eyebrows, nodded towards my direction.. 'Are you two back together again?' he meant to whisper but his voice failed him.

'Yes we are' he confirmed falsely.

'Yes, you are what?!' An angry masculine voice thundered from behind us. I spun around to meet the miffed eyes of a man well too familiar not to recognize.

'Mr. Hefner Alejandro?' I whispered, my heart in my throat.
